ANNABETH

We get off the train and find Leo on the platform. Hitching my schoolbag onto my shoulders, we walk with him up the stairs.

As we walk, we fill him in about everything- where to go for class, strict teachers, and tell him a little bit more about Ash. We tell him our cover story about meeting at a summer camp.

Leo nods. Although I heavily suspect he will come to us and complain about ''why we didn't tell him how strict Mrs Carson is'', at least I'll get a good told-you-so moment.

Leo heads to admin to get his schedule, and me and Percy meet Ash like we agreed.

''Hey Ash! Leo's coming today, he's just in admin right now. How are you?'' Percy asks our one mortal friend.

''Yeah I'm alright, my parents finally got a divorce. Mum's moving out next week, heading back to Chicago with Eliott. I'm going to miss him but it's what's best, you know? And isn't Leo the dude who does mechanics and all that? The short one?''

I nod in understanding. Ash's parents have been fighting for a while, and her brother is Eliott. I don't know him, but I think he and Ash get along.

We walk to admin, and Leo shows us his schedule. We have maths, P.E and Greek together.

Wait. Greek?

This is bad. One panic attack, and things will go wrong. Leo has already seen us having a nightmare, and although that night was awkward for everyone,  it could easily be something he brings up if he decides to confront us. And we can't forget the elevator incident.

Me and Percy go on as normal. We just have to pray we aren't starting a unit dedicated to Hell this semester.

We head to P.C, and end up in Math.

Mrs Carson walks in, and sighs. ''Class, we have a new student Leo.....if you haven't met him he is sitting at the back....alright, lets start. Area and Perimeter. You learnt that in grade nine, you all should know it. If you don't, move to Mrs Brendas class.'' Leo stifles a laugh, and I nudge him, Mrs Carson is not a teacher you want to upset.

''-And because you all needed to retake the test on multiplication last term because Mr Bren needed you all for dodgeball and made you miss the original test date instead of letting us advance to this unit, I can already tell you all that this class is going to fail.'' Again, Leo nudges me, snorting.

''- Onto the problems, write them into your book first so you can talk in class and complain about how I will make you do them for homework''

Leo can barley contain himself. He finally calms himself (which I didn't know he could do) and whispers as to why we didn't tell him that 'this teacher is such a moody prick''. I shake my head and continue to problems.

Lunch flies by. Greek was fine, and finally it was time to go home. We survived Greek, thank gods.

Ash grabs her skates and heads to her house. We go to the subway with Leo, parting when our Purple Line train comes. As we walk on, Leo makes faces at us through the window. Percy pokes his tongue out before the doors close and the Ford Street Station is left behind.

FRANK

We talked to Jason and Piper about our situation.

''I mean, you could just continue the exchange program project. If they overthrow you, just tell them that the exchange program is over. Give them an ultanium''

That advice was from Piper, if you couldn't tell.

I mean, other than that time we travelled to the Ancient Lands to stop Gaia and her armies, I personally have never attempted to defy the legions authority. As organisers of the project, we do have the right to call it off if needed. But the Greeks and Romans need their peace set in stone as fast as possible. We could just annoy everyone and set the project back.

But if being annoying is what it means to be praetor, then I'm in.

So far, we've figured out Charli and Alica are the moles. We could present that information now, but it will have more worth later, when we can humiliate them.

Jason and Piper have been supportive of us though, which is good, I guess. We just have to hope that the senate believes us.

We've decided to go with it and hope they decide the project is more worthy than new Praetors.

The annoying thing is, we can't control our fates. We can't take public transport or drive back to camp- by the time we've got there, we should have just waited for our flight, which doesn't take off until next Wednesday.

We aren't leaving New York anytime soon, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Unfortunately, the next Senate meeting is the Monday before we leave, and there will be one when we arrive back, so it's entirely possible that we will walk into the pincipa and be told we are no longer considered Praetors.

I guess we'll just have to wait and hope the Senate sees the truth- we figured it out in just a few emails, why shouldn't they? Especially as the Senate and Centurions, who outrank us.
