The two weeks flew by. I boxed up my stuff and (with permission) sent it to Sallys place. Me and Calypso were the definition of awkward, and honestly I could feel the tension between us.

Darren has been growing distant. He's hanging with the soccer crew more and yesterday he quit STEM Club. I guess I'm blowing up all my bridges before my eyes.

Sparky and Beauty Queen are staying at Camp Half Blood. After the mortals at their school, they said in the chat that they just need a break from the mortal world, which I get.

I've bought my own apartment in New York and I'm going to school with Annabeth and Percy next term. They're happy about that.

I wake up on Wednesday morning for my final day in Indiana.

Cal has already left for school, and Jo and Emmie are out somewhere. I get up and check my phone. I was at the park last night with my phone on silent, so I didn't see the 57 messages which are all from the chat with the seven.

I don't scroll too much, but I get the gist of things.

-Annabeth was threatening that if I missed my flight and she and Percy were waiting for me, she would make it her job to kill me

-Piper was trying to ask Percy and Annabeth whats happening at camp, but Annabeth continued to threaten me and Percy said they hadn't been to camp since the holidays.

-Hazel and Frank were trying to calm Annabeth down

-But then Annabeth had to go and the chat was peaceful once more

Dang, Annabeth can be scary sometimes. But why not poke the bear?

PERCY

Me and Annabeth are sitting outside class. Today we had Greek for a double and the substitute strayed from the unit and went into an in-depth description of Tartarus. We walked out before the panic attack could start. By now that's just a normal thing. No one really cared- not in the last week of school.

Suddenly our phones ping.

Leo: Uh guys, I'm at the airport. My flight left fifteen minutes ago

Annabeth rolls her eyes.

Annabeth: Valdez, shut up. Your flight is in Nevada and still has to go to Florida before it reaches Indiana

Leo: Shouldn't you and Percy be in class? Where phones ARENT ALLOWED??

As I read his message, Annabeth curses.

Annabeth: Shut. Up.

Hazel: Ngl but why aren't you guys in class? In New York it's 10:45, so don't say the train was delayed or whatever

Annabeth bites her lip. ''Listen, I'm going to make an excuse. I don't want to lie to the chat, but we made it clear we are over Tartarus. We can't exactly say that we almost had a panic attack in Greek''

Annabeth: Percy convinced me to skip, since it's the final week.

Jason: Me and Pipes got kicked out, so we aren't in school. We Hermes Expressed our stuff to Sallys, and right now we are chilling. I do not believe that you would be convinced by Percy to skip class.

I decide to bring in backup.

Percy: I did tho! We're heading back to school before break begins

Leo: I mean, we're on text so no one can prove anything and I've gtg. Bye guys!!

We hastily log off. Annabeth sighs. ''Hopefully Valdez doesn't bring that up or I think I will slap him. Anyway, let's go''

I'm good at detecting lies.

My lie detector is PINGING. Alarm bells are ringing.

I'm not going to interrogate Annabeth and Percy. But something else is going on.

Emmie is waiting for me. In silence, we drive to the airport. She pulls up at the drop and go rank. I thank her and take my stuff, walking towards the crossing. I watch as her car leaves into the distance.

I go through security. They don't pick up on my sword, stashed in my toolbelt.

I wait at my gate, and get the fiftieth text from Annabeth. She's been texting me with the same thing in our private chat for the past two hours.

Annabeth: Valdez, you better be at the airport

Leo: I'm supposed to go to the airport now? I was going to leave in an hour!

Annabeth: VALDEZ GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS AND GET TO THE AIRPORT RIGHT NOW

Leo: Why?

Annabeth: VALDEZ

Leo: Lol, I'm at the airport right now

Annabeth: Send photo.

(Leo has sent One images to the chat)

(Leo has sent One video to the chat)

Annabeth: Okay.

I sign off as my boarding call is announced. I join the line and sit down, ready to start a new life again.
