TAEHYUNG'S POV
I walk into Namjoon's office. The smell of old books and coffee greets me as I close the door behind me. Namjoon looks up from his desk.
"Taehyung," he gestured for me to sit. "I was hoping you'd change your mind after sleeping on it."
I shake my head as I take a seat. "My mind's made up, Joon. I want this divorce."
Namjoon leans back in his chair, studying me. "Okay, let's talk about this. You were the one who agreed to this marriage five years ago. What's up with you suddenly ?"
I took a deep breath, knowing it's time to come clean. "Everything's changed, Joon. I love someone. "
I can't help but chuckle at his surprise. "I know, I know. It caught me off guard too."
"So, who is she?" Namjoon asks, leaning forward, his curiosity was piqued.
I hesitated for a moment, then decided to tell him everything. "Her name is Vesta. She's well, you remember that day I left the party after learning that Vesta was in dsnger. That's her "
Namjoon's eyes widen. "Vesta ? You mean your Miguel's girlfriend ? Your stepson Miguel?"
I nodded, bracing myself for his reaction. "I know how it sounds, but it's not what you think. Miguel and Vesta had already broken up. That bastard cheated on her, before I was even in frame. She came to me as a patient, and, I don't know, Joon. Something just clicked. I just took to acknowledge it. "
To my surprise, a slow smile spreads across Namjoon's face. "Well, I'll be damned. Dr. Kim Taehyung, the robot doctor, actually fell in love. After that incident--"
" Namjoon, stop. " I stopped him with a sharp tone before he tried to reopen the long torn chapter of my life. I didn't want to bring it up , or even discuss about it.
" I'm sorry. But Tae, you know this is going to be complicated, right? Divorcing Olivia, dating your stepson's ex. It's not going to be easy."
I nodded keeping my resolve firm. "I know. But Namjoon, being with Vesta, it's like I'm finally awake. For the first time after years, I feel alive. I can't go back to pretending with Olivia. And most importantly, I can't take Vesta for granted. Everyday she'd wake up and feel like she's the other woman in my life. And I'd never want that. I've certain plans for us and the future. And I'm not backing out naming it as a casual relationship. "
Namjoon listens intently as I tell him about Vesta - her kindness, her intelligence, the way she understands me like no one else ever has.
"She sounds special." Namjoon says when I finished. "And honestly, Tae? It's good to see you like this. You seem happier."
