" Tell me you don't love me, and I won't ever show you my face. Push me away so hard that I'd stumble to even look at you. " He leaned closer to my face. " Push me before I kiss you, before I cherish every inch of you. " His palm trace...

VESTA'S POV
The scent of fresh pancakes filled the kitchen, the batter sizzled lightly on the stove as I flipped the last one onto the plate.
I couldn't help but smile, recalling the events of last night. The rain, the proposal, Taehyung kneeling in front of me with that beautiful ring in his hand-it felt like a dream.
My fingers instinctively brushed against the ring, still getting used to its presence on my hand. Everything had been perfect, but a small knot of anxiety tightened in my chest.
I had to call my parents soon. I knew they would have questions and concerns-especially after everything that had happened with Miguel.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me back into the present. I leaned into Taehyung's warmth, letting his familiar scent and touch calm my nerves.
"Penny for your thoughts?" he murmured against my ear.
I sighed, tilting my head back slightly to meet his gaze. "I was just thinking about my parents," I admitted. "I have to call them soon and tell them everything. But they've been constantly busy."
His arms tightened around me, and he placed a soft kiss on the top of my head. "Don't worry," he said gently. "Once they're back, you can talk it out with them. We'll figure it out together."
I nodded, trying to push the worry aside. "You're right." I turned my attention back to the stove. "Do you have a shift today?"
"Night shift," he replied, stepping beside me to help with the plates. "I'll be free in the first half, so I'm all yours until then."
I smiled, handing him a plate of pancakes. "Lucky me. "
Just as we were about to sit down for breakfast, the doorbell rang. Taehyung had a bite of pancake in his mouth.
" I'll fetch it. " I said holding up my hand gesturing him not to get up. I walked to the door, and when I opened the door, that uneasy feeling turned into a full-blown panic.
Standing on the doorstep were my parents. My mum looked worried, but my dad looked angry-no, furious. His face was set in a hard scowl, his eyes blazing with a mix of rage and disappointment. I had never seen him like that.
I stood there, frozen in place, unable to find my voice. When did they return back from Paris? How did they even know I was here? How did they find me? My mind raced with questions, but the fear in my chest tightened my throat, making it impossible to speak.
"Mum... Dad?" I finally managed to croak out, my voice was trembling with confusion and dread.
Before I could say anything more, Taehyung appeared behind me. My dad's gaze shifted from me to Taehyung, and in that split second, I saw the pure hatred in his eyes.
