Sprite groaned, slowly opening their eyes as someone lightly shook them awake. Their head ached as the last few remnants of whatever drug had been used on them finally subsided.
A few small coughs escaped them when they tryed to breath in. The air stank with a scent they weren't yet familiar with.
"Hey, are you awake now?"
Sprite turned to face whatever had just spoken, immediately wide awake and turning their head away again when they caught a glimpse of the completely naked ghoulette beside them.
"Oh, right, sorry. I probably should have warned you." She apologized. "It's fine, I don't mind you looking."
Sprite hesitated, slowly uncovering their eyes from beneath their hands and glancing back towards the other.
She was a tall ghoulette with shaved hair, her eyes kept firmly closed. There were small slits across every inch of her skin in various sizes. Not cuts or injuries, just small tares as if there were openings beneath each one.
Sprite couldn't help but stare. In all honesty, they were far too distracted to worry about what the slits could be. If anything, they were slightly pleased her clothes were off. It would be a crime against ghoul kind to hide such beauty beneath simple clothing.
They snapped out of their slightly dazed state, suddenly very embarrassed. "Sorry." They stuttered, turning to look away again. "Didn't mean to stare."
The ghoulette chuckled. "It's alright. Most react the exact same when first meeting me."
Sprite smiled back, glancing around at the dark room they'd been left in. It was small and empty, with no real sources of light except the tiny cracks around the door.
A small sense of dread set in and they moved to sit up on the floor. "Where am I?"
In a flurry of movement, the ghoulette's eyes opened, as well as her mouth and every single slit on her body. Beneath each gap was an eye, all matching her original two.
"What the fuck!?" Sprite screamed, backing away slightly and clasping their hands over their mouth.
"Sorry, sorry!" The ghoulette apologized, holding her hands out to try to calm the panicked ghoul. "Fuck, I really keep forgetting to warn you, don't I?"
Sprite couldn't help the horrified expression that played at their face. Even the way her mouth moved as she spoke, allowing brief moments were the eye inside could be seen, made shivers run down their spine.
They slowly removed their hands from their mouth, unable to tare their eyes away from the ghoulette. "What in the nine rings are you?" They whispered, too stunned to speak clearly.
The ghoulette frowned. "I'm Videratio. I'm a ghoulette, just with a few small alterations."
"Having eyes all over you body doesn't exactly count as a few small alterations." Sprite corrected, standing from the floor. "What the fuck did all that to you?"
Videratio sighed, guiding them towards the door. "Welcome to the Zafer Rokur."
Temporarily blinded by the light of their new environment, Sprite glanced around at the larger room, their eyes widening as they took in the appearances of all the other ghouls already waiting there for them.
They all seemed to have been altered, as Videratio had said it, in one way or another. One had a mermaid tail and patches of scales, another looked as if they were made of Chinese porcelain. Any that didn't have physical differences still seemed changed in some way.
Tears began to brim Sprite's eyes as a small ghoulette, no older that twelve seasons, moved slowly towards them. Her expression was blank and each step seemed painfully slow.
