emily was being sued and tori thought it had been a long time coming. she was constantly firing maids for no reason. this time it was because she was too loud as she walked, which was stupid and not a valid reason to fire someone even if emily claimed it was.
but vee kept her mouth closed about the whole thing. especially since emily was rather unhappy with her following the dinner with trix. apparently, the woman had praised tori quite a bit, leaving a bitter taste in her and richard's mouths after everything that happened at yale. it had boosted tori's mood to know she was liked within the gilmore family beyond just her mom. and her mom loved to see her parents squirm while trix praised the 'wide range of activities' tori took part in.
until she began laughing a few days later when lorelai was asked to make a deposition for her mother.
emily pulled out the family loyalty card, which made lorelai scoff, considering everything that had gone down in the last couple of weeks between them. nevertheless, she agreed to make one after a lot of pushing. it was the only way to get emily gilmore to shut up. sometimes it was easier to let her have her way than argue and lorelai knew she needed to pick her battles.
with everything going on, vee kept a close eye on rory, wanting to be there for her the second she needed following the big break up but it never came. she'd been acting as if they had never even been together. she boxed his stuff up, ready to give to him. then he came over with her stuff and vee and lorelai saw how much it was affecting her.
they watched as her face fell, the finality of it all hitting her as dean left. lorelai tried to comfort her, saying she would be moving on just like he was but little got through.

one of the perks of being on the soccer team was that phys ed was an automatic pass. tori still had to participate but she was basically guaranteed a high pass because of soccer. which she found weird as their phys ed class usually had some shit like fencing. that was their lesson that day and she hated it.
she hated it less when she witnessed paris chasing rory around before she revealed that she had considered rory a best friend until she told francie about jamie, her boyfriend.
watching rory get chased around was quite funny. until she realised paris was actually hurt and upset.
after class, tori went to the toilet, bumping into a hiding paris.
"hey, paris, i'm sorry about the whole francie, rory thing," she spoke.
"i don't need your pity," she snapped.
tori shrugged, washing her hands, "no pity here. i was just showing sympathy."
paris shifted so she was facing the girl from her seat by the window, "you're not going to try and defend her?"
"will you listen?"
"no."
"then no," she answered.
"right." there was a pause as vee dried her hands. "thanks for not trying to defend her."
