tori had gotten roped into dancing with lorelai, the woman claiming that because of her dance experience, she was the perfect replacement for her original partner.
she was wearing a 50s-style dress and even had her hair and makeup done for it. sadie had made her way to stars hollow for the whole thing too.
"god, this is stupid," tori grumbled.
sadie hummed, handing her a cup of coffee, that luke had given her in secret, "but it's for your mom."
"it is."
"god it's early."
tori groaned, "yeah it is. you chose to come to this, i was forced."
sadie took a sip of her coffee, "i'm not from a small town, all these events are intriguing. like you have a dance marathon. that's not normal. i need to experience this shit."
"that's one way to look at it."
---
tori made sure that her mom didn't dance too hard at the very beginning, knowing they would tire quickly.
"come on," lorelai tried.
tori spun her around, "do you want to win or not? i know what i'm doing, you never go all out in a rehearsal, you save that for the actual show."
lorelai spun her this time, "ugh, you're right."
"that's show biz, kid," tori replied, putting on her best (and possibly the worst) accent she could when she did it.
cue the argument between andrew and his partner before they continued dancing, seeing rory and dean watching. when kirk flipped his partner, lorelai tried to get tori to flip.
she refused.
then jess and shane entered, making their way through the dance floor, pushing through couples. tori frowned, watching them. jess noticed her eyes on him, pulling shane closer and into a kiss.
she looked away, "gross."
"yeah."
then the run around happened. tori groaned as she was pulled into the line.
"god, you are so lucky i play a sport," she yelled as she pulled her mom along with her, ignoring jackson asking lorelai's opinion on everything. apparently, lorelai had given her opinion on something and jackson was annoyed about it.
the argument ended in the couple running off the dance floor.
"i hate you," tori yelled as she passed rory. then they called a break. lorelai threw herself to the floor. tori kicked her.
"ow! why'd you do that?"
"because! i'm dying and i'm hungry and i hate you right now!" she huffed. "i'm going to get sandwiches."
