europe had been amazing for tori. she'd seen everything she wanted too and her mom had been extremely grateful she had made an itinerary, she just wouldn't admit it. it was much more fun to call her a nerd and make fun of her for it.

she struggled with her pack back up to their house. she frowned when she saw a figure sitting there before she clocked on to who it was. the fact the figure was sat reading a book gave it away.

"jess!" she exclaimed, running towards him as best she could, ignoring her sister and mom complaining about the length of the van ride. "hi! how was california? were you waiting ages? sorry we're later than we said,

he kissed her lips quickly, "it was... it was okay. how was europe?"

"amazing. i got you a gift," she told. "do you want to come in for—"

she was cut off by babette leaving her house, yelling about the three of them being back. turns out the itinerary that tori had given her had freaked her out as they were a few days later than they had originally planned. but it ended in her phoning every consulate she could.

vee watched babette rush past them into the house, saying a quick hello before she went to make cocoa.

tori stared at the door, "i'm regretting the itinerary a little."

"you were late," jess agreed. "but thanks for not making me sit on your porch for days and emailing me."

she smiled, "i couldn't let you sleep on a swing, i like you too much. i just forgot babette also had our schedule."

"so you start yale soon," he began, wrapping an arm around her.

"in a few days," she answered. "i've already ordered my things and tomorrow i'm going to stationery shop."

jess followed her into the house, "you should not be that excited."

"i like pens."

"my girlfriend everybody," he quipped.

"but you love me because i'm so pretty," she hummed, throwing herself down on the sofa. "so, tell me everything about california? are people really super friendly?"

"they're something," he answered. "tell me about europe."

she yawned, "tomorrow. i wanna sleep and you're so warm and comfy."

he chuckled, pulling her up, "come on. let's get you upstairs." he let her lean on him as they walked.

"night," she called.

turns out the whole starting yale on the saturday fast approaching wasn't something rory and lorelai had known. the next day when lorelai went on about having a week to plan for yale and spend time together, tori had to break the news to both of them.
