The day after I got back from my Final Selection I sent Kuro off with a letter to Kagaya asking if I could wear something other than the demon slayer uniform. The main reason I asked is so that I don't blow my cover with demons that we encounter. I know I'll have a sword but some demons have weapons so it wouldn't be too out of place for me to have a sword. My personal reason is that I wanted to wear my own clothes that I've made. I told him that I would sew my rank in my clothing.
I got his response back a few days later. He said that it was fine, as long as I had my rank on the back and that I used the same fiber the uniforms used. He agreed with me to keep my status as a demon slayer secret for now. We both know it's going to get out at some point.
I sent another letter back asking what the fiber and fabric were. The clothes I've made so far aren't made of the fiber and fabric so I wanted the rest of my clothes that I make to be of the same fiber.
His reply had the fiber name, the fabric type, and where I could get them. He also said that the fabric would be able to change size with me. I was happy because I didn't want to stretch my clothes out.
All the clothes that I've made since that letter are made of the same fiber and fabric. All the clothes that weren't, I planned on leaving at Urokodaki's house. I might even bring some with me in case anyone likes my style of clothing and I'll give them the clothes not made of special fiber and fabric.
Urokodaki had my haori made for me while I was at my Final Selection. Urokodaki went to get it the same day he went to get the box he had specially made for me. The hoari was made of the same fiber and fabric that my clothes are made of.
