Reincarnated as Nezuko

Chapter 7

Nezuko's P.O.V.

After I got some much-needed rest, I realized it was late into the afternoon. Tanjiro and Urokodaki will be back pretty soon. I started making dinner for the three of us. I made curry and rice this time. As I was making it, I thought about my blood demon art and the possibilities I could do with it. I already know that I'll be able to combust my blood, control my blood, and neutralize demon poisons. But what else? As I continued thinking of the possibilities I could hear Urokodaki and Tanjiro getting closer to the house.

When they got here the food wasn't quite done yet.

"Welcome back you two. Dinner isn't quite done yet so why don't you two freshen up? It should be done by the time you get done." I suggested.

"Good idea, Nezuko. I need a bath, after all that training." Tanjiro said and he went to go freshen up. I heard Urokodaki chuckle.

"Thank you for cooking, Nezuko," Urokodaki said gratefully.

"It's my pleasure," I told him with a smile. I watched as he gave a slight nod and then headed over to the wash basin to wash his hands.

By the time Tanjiro returned, the food was ready to be plated and eaten. I got the dishes we used earlier and started plating everyone's food. As we ate Tanjiro talked about his training once again. I didn't mind. Once we all finished eating, Tanjiro offered to clean the dishes.

"Thank you Tanjiro," I said as he gathered up everyone's dishes and went over to wash them. The sun had gone down so I decided to take a stroll.

"I'm going to go take a stroll, and before you protest Tanjiro, I'll be fine. I'm a demon. I'll be back before you fall asleep I promise." I told him and Urokodaki.

"Alright, just be careful please," Tanjiro said reluctantly. I looked over to Urokodaki to see what his response would be and he looked at me and nodded.

"I will," I said and left out the door.

Half an hour later I walked back to the house. I noticed Tanjiro was getting ready for bed and so was Urokodaki, but I knew he was just doing it so Tanjiro didn't get suspicious.

"I'm back." I knew that they would know I was back because of their sense of smell, but I thought it was right to let them know.

"Hey Nezuko, nice walk?" Tanjiro asked while getting his bed ready.

"Yes, it's beautiful tonight," I told him.

Tanjiro finished getting his bed ready and I also noticed the Urokodaki was 'ready' as well. 

"Goodnight Tanjiro. I'll see you in the morning." I told him 

"Aren't you going to bed too?" he asked.

"I will in a little while. I got a nap earlier today, so I'm not that tired. I'll be alright. Go ahead and go to sleep." I told him 

"Alright. Try to get some sleep though," he told me.

"I will," I said with my fingers crossed behind my back. "Goodnight, you two," I said to Tanjiro and Urokodaki.

"Goodnight, Nezuko," they said. Urokodaki was still up but he was by his bed roll so it looked like he was going to get into it soon. 

After a while, Tanjiro ultimately went to sleep. Once I knew he was fully asleep, I went over to Urokodaki to see what we were going to start with. 

"What are we going to start with?" I asked 

"Well, first you're going to start with what I was having your brother do. Running down the mountain as fast as you can. I want to see how well you do. I figure you'll be able to do it in a good time. But I want to gauge your stamina, endurance, speed, etc."

"Sounds good to me. Do you think Tanjiro will notice if we are gone? His sense of smell is very strong, so I don't know if he will be able to smell us leave even if he is asleep. " I said

"I have the same strong sense of smell as he does. He might be able to notice, he might not. We'll just have to see. I can sense smells when I sleep because I trained my body to always be on alert even when asleep. It's a good habit to get into, especially if you become a Demon Slayer." he told me

"That's smart. If you don't mind me asking how did you do it? Can you teach me to do it?" I asked

"I can but right now we should start your training," he said 

We started going up the mountain. Once we got to the top, he told me to start heading down the mountain as fast as I could. And I did just that. And that's how my training began.
