Reincarnated as Nezuko

Chapter 4

Tanjiro's P.O.V.

We'd been walking for a few hours when we had to stop. The sun had started coming out from behind the clouds. I quickly started looking for a cave for Nezuko to hide in. After a few minutes of searching, I found one.

"Nezuko, I want you to hide in here. You can't be exposed to sunlight." Just as I turned around I saw a pink and black blur zoom past me into the cave.

'What the?'

I turned back around to see Nezuko all the way in the back of the small cave.

"Okay then."

'We can't keep only walking during the night. I need to find a way to walk during the day. Maybe I could find something to carry Nezuko in that will block out sunlight.'

"Hey Nezuko, I'm going to go look for something that will help us be able to continue moving throughout the day," I told her.

"Alright. I think there might be a house or something nearby. You might be able to ask them if they have anything that'll help us."

"How do you know?"

"My senses were heightened because of the transformation. So, I can smell that there are people nearby."

"Alright, I'll go ask."

"Stay safe," she told me.

"I will," I told her. I started sniffing the air to see if I could pick up on anything and I did, I smelt people. So, I followed my nose in that direction.

3rd Person P.O.V.

Tanjiro finally found some farmland where a man was taking care of his crops. Tanjiro looked around and spotted an old worn-out basket. He also saw that there was some straw and bamboo nearby and got an idea.

"Excuse me. Would it be okay if I took that basket, straw, and some Bamboo?" Tanjiro asked the man.

"Sure, you're welcome to it, but that basket is full of holes." the man told Tanjiro.

"That's alright. Thank you and here's some money for the things."

"No, that's alright. I mean the basket is full of holes. I don't have any use for it."

"No, I insist!" Tanjiro insisted.

"No, it's alright. You can have the bamboo and straw for free, too."

"I'm still going to pay you for it!" Tanjiro said stubbornly.

"I said it's okay! You're one stubborn kid!"

Tanjiro slaps the money into the man's hands.

"Agh...!"

"Please accept this even though it isn't much," Tanjiro said and then ran off with the basket, straw, and bamboo.

"Thank you very much!" Tanjiro yelled back to the man.

"Ouch!!" the man yelped while shaking his hand.

Nezuko's P.O.V.

After Tanjiro left the sunlight started coming deeper inside the cave. So, I decided to dig a hole at the very back so I could avoid the sunlight. Once I finished digging the hole, I got in.

'Why is it always sunlight?'

After a while of waiting, I heard my name being called.

"Nezuko? Nezuko? Oh no she's gone." I internally facepalm

'Okay I love my brother, but he can be so dumb. He knows I can't go out in sunlight, so I have nowhere to go.'

I poked my head out of my hole. I had the bamboo gag around my neck I'll use it when I'm around strangers, so I don't freak them out but other than that it's staying around my neck. I don't know how Nezuko could stand having it in her mouth in the show.
