Katara
Sitting in a more homey part of the large structured palace that Katara had barged into earlier, the man named Sekku brought her a cup of tea. Trying to help ease her sorrow.
In her grip, Katara's fingers trembled and the borosilicate glass shook the liquid inside, almost spilling over the rim."It's ok" Sekku comforted, wrapping his larger hands around Katara's that held onto the cup. Looking up his white smile was infectious across his chestnut-colored skin. Sekku wore a traditional blue sleeveless shirt. His warrior tattoo marked his shoulder blade for display. He had light-colored brown hair that was long and unbraided until the end.
"I was prepared to hear news of Gran-Gran's death, given her age... I just never imagined Dad... I'm such a horrible daughter" Katara confessed unable to keep her ocean eyes looking up at his.
"No don't say that. You have no idea how happy I am to see you again." Sekku spoke softly. His eyes twinkled as he continued to look at Katara, who didn't share his excitement.
"We had met in the north pole," Sekku confessed.
"it was brief during the battle. I was also the one who led the effort in finding you years ago...
Katara I just want to say I am so sorry we failed."
Looking upon Sekku's face once more, Katara's eyes narrowed on his. Barely was she able to remember anything. Although a short foggy moment was trying to surface, she couldn't fully understand it."It's not your fault... I should have been smarter. Wiser... untrusting" Katara admitted as Commander Shane's image flooded her mind.
"How could you have known life would turn out this way? truly you are not to blame."
Hearing those words, a teardrop fell down Katara's cheek. How could I have known... she asked herself.
"It's not an excuse I'm trying to make... My father is dead. My brother has a child. I've missed you so much. While I-I -I was just stupid."
Pulling away from Sekku's gentle hands, Katara could feel her eyes welling up heavily.
"H-How did he die?" Katara choked out recovering herself."The former Chief Hakoda?" Sekku questioned.
Exhaling deeply Sekku had no idea how to begin and explain. His heart saddened for Katara knowing she was only hours away from being able to tell her father goodbye.*THUMP*
"Katara" Sokka wailed opening a door from the connecting hallway which ultimately led to the rest of the palace."Sokka.." Katara faintly acknowledges looking up.
"Oh spirits Katara I'm so happy you've returned safely." Sokka expressed hugging her once more as Katara's limp body stood up.
"Where have you been? Actually, what are you wearing?!" Sokka interrogate realizing his sister was dressed head to toe in high-ranking Fire Nation clothing."Oh uhm.. Zuko had this made me." Katara whispered embarrassedly.
"Zuko?!" Suki's tone was uncomfortable appearing from behind Sokka as she closed the door.
"You mean the new Fire Lord Zuko? That Zuko?"
