Katara
2 days later Midnight
Whipped outside... I was to be whipped outside. Forced to receive 25 lashes omorrow! And for what? For something, I didn't even do! Being framed and forced to accept it.
The moment Zuko agreed to my punishment, he disappeared in front of me as I screamed ranted, and raved.
That Son of a Bitch couldn't even look at me. He knew this was ridiculous, yet I had no choice but to accept it.
Sui hasn't shown her face either, someone I thought was my friend was merely planning my demise.
I can't believe she has been working with Mai this whole time Is it possible Mai has something on her? I mean why else would she betray me? Why would she do this to me?
Spirits!
My mind only spanned out of control the longer I remembered and thought of this. The only thing I do know is my foolish actions led me here.
Just when I thought I was 2 steps ahead it seemed I was always 3 steps behind... Why couldn't what I had a few nights ago be enough?
I went through the possibility of leaving and staying so many times in my head. Hours of deliberating every possible outcome. I just never thought of this one.
*Cling! Cling!*
Yanking my arms I tried so hard to pull my hands loose, to get free... or at least comfortable. In return for my efforts, the chains clung loudly against each link, mocking me, but not breaking.
Still, I hung by my wrist in the palace dungeon, my feet not able to touch the ground.
Looking up at the high ceiling, there was a small window near the top. This small window allowed a tiny peek of sun or moonlight in. This small detail I noticed early on was my only way of knowing what time of day it was. Mentally I had to keep a record of my time here. A useful tool I learned many years ago.
However, because of the height added to the grand width of this dungeon, the sunlight barely shines far enough inside, always allowing this place to be dim, and depressing.
Not too long ago, a women guard had just brought me back from the restroom facilities they offered us prisoners. I was only allowed out twice a day from my confinement, like any other prisoner. But it was better than being forced to release urine or bowel movements on me.
My vision was no longer blurry after Zuko threatened me to eat and drink. I could still remember clearly, the intense amber eyes he had. It wasn't hard to convince me he would keep good on his word had I continued to refuse to nourish myself.
Looked over to the corner floor of the dungeon where I was allowed to sit earlier and eat dinner, before being hung again like an ornament. I noticed the rats running along, eating my scraps from the plate. For perhaps the millionth time tonight I asked myself. "Spirits.. how am I going to survive this.."
Zuko
Walking down the hall to his harem Zuko was tipsy and disoriented by the amount of liquor he had begun to ingest the moment the sun had set, and his duties were completed. His day was filled with a sad heaviness floating over him, knowing what he must witness tomorrow morning. Even though deep in his heart he questioned what had taken place.
Unable to accept it Zuko wandered into his palace searching for his harem. His deep red ornate robe was open, revealing his strong muscular chest, which flickered in the moonlight whenever he passed a window. The spiked shoulders he normally would have on were off in his chambers. His underpants which usually were hidden from the waist down were visible, dark, and long.
Over and over the evidence ran through his mind, but he couldn't believe it. He didn't trust the evidence Mai had placed in front of him but she made sure he had no choice. Earlier today at lunch Zuko noticed an unusual giggling side of Mai, as she tried to discuss what clothes she would wear tomorrow.
Stumbling passed the open door to his harem Zuko vision barely noticed the way the women had decorated it.
