"Fire Lady Mai it's been quite a few months since the royal wedding. Would we hear the sounds of little feet in the palace soon?" A noblewoman named An-Ni asked sitting amongst the table. Sitting with her back arched her pink-colored cheeks smirked to her own question.

Amongst the many elite families of the Fire Nation Mai had become fully aware of the rumors circling. Her suspicion erupted day by day of who had leaked such information. Being Fire Lady was not what she had dreamt of. Zuko had become beyond distant since day one. Traditionally the Fire Lord wouldn't leave his new bride for the first three days after the wedding. Yet Zuko had disappeared by morning never consummating the marriage.

Mai sharped eyes who sat at the head of the outdoor table, and looked down at the long rectangle table she had invited the elite wives for afternoon tea. As many Fire Lady's did before her, continuing the tradition.
"Perhaps" Mai noted regally lifting the small tea glass to her lips.

"I was just surprised the Fire Lord let you leave the marital chambers practically hours after the wedding!" An-Ni mocked which allowed the other wives to giggle amongst themselves.
"I couldn't help but wonder!"

Remaining calm under the warm day Mai slowly lowered the tea cup from her lips. "Unlike so many of your husbands, mine is responsible for the lives of many." Mai calmly advised.
"Many lives could be turned upside down with a single word."

Wiping the smile from her face An-Ni gulped the loose saliva in her throat looking down to the fine china tea set. The afternoon tea turned silent from Mai's cold statement. Suddenly standing up the chair underneath Mai jumped backward, as the other women looked upon the pale Fire Lady.
"This is finished" Mai spoke once in a low aggravated tone. Her long regal attire fluttered behind her as she turned to leave. Noting the bitter appearance on the Fire Lady's lips the women at the table looked at one another afraid for their husband's jobs.

"Don't listen to them" Chloe yelped rushing up to Mai as her long slender legs moved with haste.
"Yes don't listen to them" Zoey added joining the quick walk.

Walking with a fiery purpose Mai's arms interlocked in each other, her sleeves connecting at the seam. The dark red attire fluttered around the clicking of her heel on the marble floor.
"Where is my husband?"

Chloe and Zoey both looked at each other, their eyes enlarged as they silently discussed who would say it out loud.
"He's in the harem. Isn't he?" Mai answered her own question, understanding the few times these two were actually silent.

Nodding their head on each side of Mai, Chloe, and Zoey both looked down to the ground unable to answer with their voice. Knowing how much it would hurt Fire Lady Mai.

Bursting through the Harem doors, Mai saw Zuko sitting on the plush pillow. Surrounding him was a handful of men sitting as well. Entertaining the men with drinks and food were a few women in sheer clothing. Making sure to be subservient their eyes look right back down after realizing who I was.
