Everyone returned to the room and sat on their seats with a happy atmosphere, even Wu Du who was worried sick for his sibling, and the screen turned on.
Ch.114: Teasing Words to Befuddle Me and Also My Lord 2
After that line, thoughts laid heavy on Xie Lian's mind the rest of the way.
"Who wouldn't overthink after hearing the sudden bomb the crimson rain dropped," Feng Xin said.
"Right?" Qing Xuan agreed. "My brother and I along with his two friends are obviously famous but what made the crimson rain think that we're bad influences?"
"You're fine," He Xuan said. "The other three aren't."
"How bias," Pei Ming said, looking extremely amused instead of offended.
"Well, it's pretty obvious that out of the four of you, the innocent one is the wind master considering how naïve she is," Mu Qing bluntly stated.
He tried prodding for more but every response Hua Cheng gave him thereafter all seemed to mean "That's all I'll say on the subject". Thus, Xie Lian didn't pursue anymore.
He Xuan was glad his plans weren't revealed by the crimson rain to his highness. After all, while the ghost was trustworthy, he was too much of an obedient ghost towards his highness so He Xuan wasn't sure if he'd spill everything if the prince ask for it.
Hua Cheng, who can see the relief on He Xuan's face, rolled his eyes. Really, did the hungry ghost think of him in such a lowly manner?
He was really tempted to add a few thousand more on his debt but didn't.
When they returned to Puqi shrine, dawn had yet broken upon the horizon. Pushing the door open, Xie Lian could see that all the dishes were cleaned and put away. Lang Ying, Guzi, and Qi Rong were all sleeping inside, a blanket covering them, looking very comfortable.
"I don't want to say this but they look adorable."
"I know right? I don't like the green ghost but they look like a family."
"Isn't this going to be bad for those kids since the green ghost is a bad influence?"
"Maybe he softened his heart and treat them as his own?"
"Wasn't he the one who instructed the kid to lie in the prince's mother's coffin when it was absolutely unnecessary?"
"...Ah, right..."
Xie Lian twitched at the reminder.
It seemed that after he left, there really was someone who took care of things attentively, and had already left silently.
"If only everyone has that help, it would really make life easier."
"Don't you have your own attendants?"
"I meant in the past before I ascended."
"That's true, it would definitely be convenient but aren't we all used to doing the chores? Only a specific few of us were rich enough to hire servants, after all."
