This story won't be following the sandlot plot. It takes place a little bit after the movie so the boys are about two years old. Benny is 15 everyone else is 14 and Timmy is 12.
Lillian and her older brother Julian always got along. He was okay with her tagging along to watch him play baseball, she was even cool with all his friends. The duo was attached to the hip. The fact that they were only a year apart was also part of the reason they were so close.
There was a week left of school then it would soon be summer vacation for all the kids in San Fernando Valley. But instead of being happy like everyone else Lillian couldn't help but think ahead, for example how 9 grade would be. Overthinking was a bad habit for her but she couldn't help it.
She was sitting in the dugout watching her brother and his team practice. Her leg was starting to hurt from the heavy weight of her bike leaning on it but she was to lazy to move it. She decided to go ride around for a bit until the boys actually started playing. Lily made sure to tell Julian where she was going before pedaling away on her prized possession aka her bicycle.
Lillian smiled as she sped faster and faster down the sidewalk, the wind was blowing in her hair and the sun was shining on her back, the feeling of pure blissfulness surrounded her. She forgot she was on her bike and closed her eyes for a split second but that's all it took for her to go flying in mid air off her bike. She winced in pain as her knee made contact with the ground, making a bit of blood flow out. She cradled her injured leg in her arms and bit back a few tears, not allowing herself to cry.
"Hey there, are you okay" a voice said making her watery eyes look up at the towering figure.
Her eyes met the voice and it just happened to belong to Alan McClennan. She didn't know him well but she did know that her brother and his friends didn't get along with Alan and his friends, plus they had a few classes together but they never really talked. Julian wouldn't approve if they did but it's not like ever tried to communicate with one another."I'm fine" she said trying to stand up on her own. Her leg wobbled a bit before giving up on her and slamming her butt back to the ground
"Here let me help you" Alan said giving her a hand. Lillian protested again insisting she could get up on her own. Her brother made Alan and his friends sound like real jerks and she didn't wanna be caught up in bad energy.
"Do you even know who I am?" she asked him
"Yeah-yeah, you're Phillips sister. Your names Lillian. And I also know you're bleeding, you need to allow me to help"
he said in more of a pleading tone, he stuck his hand out one more time hoping the girl would take it.She fought back the lingering voice in her head of her brother warning her about the sandlot boys, and grabbed a hold of Alan's hand.
"Come on, I live right there" he said using his hand that held a baseball to point to a blue house right across the street. She nodded and took one look at her bike. It was trash now, her wheel was now slightly bent and the chain was broke and a tulip which just happened to be her favorite type of flower, she picked and put on her handle bar was squished. Her baby was now dead.Once they made it to Alan's house they limped in the kitchen and he sat her on the counter before leaving and coming back with rubbing alcohol and bandaids. Lillian winced when she caught sight of the evil white bottle in Alan's hand. She would rather get 100 needles then put alcohol on an open cut. Alan noticed her uneasiness and assured her it wouldn't hurt that bad.
He grabbed a rag and poured a bit of the chemical on it before giving her a assuring look and hastily pressing it on her knee.
Lillian winced but as soon as the pain came it was over. She was surprised, she would usually be screaming for hours. Alan unwrapped the bandaid and placed it on her cut, standing up from his crouching position and helping her off the counter. The two walked back outside in an awkward silence. Lillian had about a dozen questions but she really only wanted the answer to one. "Why, why'd you help me?" She said, turning around to face Alan. He thought about it for a minute, finally when the right words came to mind he looked her in the eyes and said "Why not?" He gave a half smile and walked away leaving Lillian standing there, still in his front yard.

Fanfic"You need to allow me to help you" It's not that Lillian hated the sandlot boys, to be honest hate wasn't even in her vocabulary. It was more like she was forbidden to associate with the characters. but fate had other things in store. COPYRIGHT ©...
