Dally walked over to us and said "Hey Jenny, can we talk now?" I rolled my eyes and said "No, I'm not ready to talk yet." Dally then responded "come on, please Jenny."

Johnny then spoke up and said "leave her alone Dal." Dally glared at Johnny and said "what did you say to me? What did you say to me you little shit?!"

"You heard, me leave her alone Dal." Johnny said. Dally gave Johnny a cold stare before stomping out of the house.

I looked at Johnny with a look of relief and said "thank you." Johnny gave me a shy smile and said "no problem."

I then looked at Ponyboy, who had a look of confusion and shock from the scene. He asked "so Jenny, did you and Dally break up?"

I wasn't sure how to answer because we never technically broke up, I decided to respond "I don't know, it's complicated."

Ponyboy nodded his head and Johnny and Ponyboy went back to playing their game of cards.

As the game went on Johnny and I kept giving each other shy smiles, maybe I still had feelings for Johnny after all.

I walked over to Ponyboy and Johnny and said "Hey guys can I join?" Johnny gave me a small smile and said "course' Jenny." Ponyboy gave everyone their cards and then we started to play the game.

We played the game until Johnny had to go, Johnny said "Hey Jenny, wanna come on a walk to the lot with me?" I nodded my head, knowing that Johnny and I might have a chance of getting back together.

I put on my old torn up leather jacket, knowing it was cold that night. I quickly walked over to Johnny and we started walking to the lot.

When we got there we both sat down and watched the sunset. I remembered the first time I had watched a sunset together, it had only been a few weeks, but it felt like forever ago. So much had changed in such a short time.

Johnny finally spoke "remember the first time we watched the sunset?" I smiled and said "I was just thinking about that." Johnny then said "Do you think we could ever get that back?"

I shrugged, not knowing the right response, so much had happened since then. Johnny said "Do you want to know." I said "are you asking me if I think we should get back together again?" Johnny gave me an unsure nod.

I said "I think it's worth a try, I still have feelings for you." Johnny smiled and said "I still have feelings for you too." Johnny and I stayed and watched the sunset for a few moments, holding hands as we did so.

Johnny walked me home holding hands all the way to my house. We hugged each other goodbye before I entered my house.

I saw Sodapop had gotten home from work. He gave me one of his movie star smiles and said "Hey Jenny, out on a walk with Johnny?" I smiled and nodded my head.

"So, how are you and Dally?" Sodapop asked. My look became less joyful as I said "I'm gonna break up with him." Sodapop nodded with an I told you so expression.

We then spent a few hours together as a family, laughing and having fun before it was time for bed. I was a little nervous, knowing Dally would probably decide to come to my room tonight.

I slowly started walking up the stairs to my room, mentally preparing myself to deal with Dally that night. I got into bed, not trying to fall asleep, waiting for Dally to show up.
