I woke up in the dimly lit warehouse, my body aching all over. I first wondered where I was, looking around in confusion until I heard a familiar and sarcastic tone of voice.

"Welcome to your Spider-Cave, Pete." Eddie Brock said, leaning against a nearby table with a smirk.

I tried to sit up, wincing from the pain. Eddie walked over and sat next to me, his expression shifting to one of concern.

"You really did a number on yourself. Two nearly broken wrists and hands, torn muscles in your legs, a few ruptured organs, serious bone fractures along your back, and some broken ribs."

I stared at him in disbelief.

Okay I knew Peter survived some nearly deadly stuff, but-

'How am I even alive? Did Vulture sonic scream do more damage to me internally than I thought?'

"Before I could even start first aid and figure out how to help you, you started healing on your own which help a lot. It's freaky, but I guess that's one of the perks of being superhuman." Eddie said with a sigh as he continued to explain. "I mainly help with your outside wounds, I couldn't do much for your insides as they were healing your own. I had to sometimes leave and gather Water and apple sauce so you wouldn't starve or dehydrate yourself while healing."

'My body must have been pushed to the limit and was forced to put all my energy into a speedy recovery. In doing so, I used the majority of the nutrients in my body.' I shook my head slightly before asking a question. "Why didn't you call 911?"

Eddie looked away, hesitating before answering. "I couldn't do that to you without an explanation. Besides..." Eddie coughed into his hand, clearly uncomfortable. "Your AI stopped me."

"Rika?" My eyes widened slightly and a smile as I looked at my phone to see it all. 'I didn't know she was in this development. Did she override my phone in order to give Flash commands?'

Eddie nodded. "Yeah, she kind of... talked me out of it. Mentioned about how I should help you and told me after a lot of rest you would be fine."

"Thanks, Eddie. I owe you one." I chuckled weakly, appreciating the attempt at humor despite the situation. "Thank you too Rika if you are still online!"

"Just get better, okay? We'll figure out the rest later." Eddie said with a smile, patting me on the shoulder. I wince a little and he moved his hand away quickly. "Sorry."

Me and Eddie sat in silence for a moment, the weight of the situation hanging heavily between them.

'Currently, I was thinking about that speed I had while fighting the Vulture. What was that feeling? I couldn't feel it now, like is was never their in the first place.'

Eddie then let out a sigh, breaking the tension.

"Pete, I have to ask. Why are you dressed in a red and blue costume fighting criminals? And why didn't you tell me? I thought we were close. I thought we were brothers."

'Brother?' I thought as this snaps me out of my thoughts. I took a deep breath, feeling the guilt settle in. "I got my powers before summer started during ESU. I wanted to do something good with them, so I decided to become a superhero. The reason I didn't tell you is because I knew where this would lead."

"What do you mean, 'where this would lead'?" Eddie ask with his brow furrowed.

"You would have most likely told me to stop this, and if I refused, you would tell Aunt May." I said as I looked down, slightly ashamed about not telling him.
