Onyx's POV

The weight of Mason and Marco's threats pressed down on me like a vice. Every moment I spent with Cammy felt stolen, borrowed against a future I couldn't guarantee. I had to make a decision, but every option seemed to lead to ruin.

After school, I walked Cammy home, my mind racing. I needed to talk to someone, to get advice, but I didn't know who I could trust. As we reached her front door, she turned to me, concern etched in her eyes.

"Onyx, you've been quiet all day. What's going on?"

I forced a smile, trying to hide the turmoil inside. "Just thinking about what those guys said. But I'll handle it. I promise."

She looked at me skeptically but didn't press further. "Okay. Just... be careful, okay?"

I nodded, kissing her softly. "I will. See you tomorrow."

As she went inside, I headed to the one place where I knew I could be alone with my thoughts: the old abandoned warehouse where I used to hang out with the gang. It was a relic of my past, a place filled with memories of a life I had tried to leave behind.

Sitting on a rusted metal beam, I stared at the graffiti-covered walls, my mind a whirlwind of emotions. I knew I should let Cammy go, that it was the only way to keep her safe. But the thought of losing her, of seeing her hurt because of me, was unbearable.

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice the figure approaching until it was too late. Mason's voice echoed through the empty space, startling me.

"Onyx, we need to talk."

I stood up, my heart pounding. "I told you, I need time."

Mason shook his head, stepping closer. "Time's running out, Onyx. You know what's at stake. Make the right choice, and this all goes away."

"And if I don't?" I asked, my voice steady despite the fear gripping me.

Marco appeared from the shadows, his expression cold. "Then she gets hurt. It's simple."

I clenched my fists, anger boiling inside me. "Why are you doing this? I'm not a threat to you."

Mason laughed, a cruel sound. "It's not about you being a threat. It's about loyalty. You turned your back on us, and now you have to pay."

I took a deep breath, trying to keep my anger in check. "I'll rejoin the gang, but you leave Cammy alone. That's the deal."

Marco smirked. "We'll see. But for now, you're back with us. No more playing house."

As they turned to leave, Mason glanced back at me. "And remember, Onyx, we're always watching."

With that, they disappeared into the night, leaving me alone in the warehouse. The walls seemed to close in on me, the weight of my decision pressing down like a physical force. I had made a deal with the devil to protect Cammy, but the cost was higher than I could bear.

As I left the warehouse, my phone buzzed. It was a message from Cammy: "Can we talk? I'm worried about you."

I stared at the screen, my heart aching. How could I tell her the truth? How could I explain that I was putting myself back into the life I had fought so hard to escape, all for her safety?

With a heavy sigh, I started walking toward her house, knowing that the hardest conversation of my life was about to begin. I had to tell her everything, to lay bare the secrets I had kept hidden. But as I approached her door, a chilling realization hit me: What if Mason and Marco had already made their move?

I knocked, my heart racing, and waited. The seconds stretched into an eternity, and just as the door began to open, my phone buzzed again. A single, ominous message flashed on the screen: "We have her."

My blood ran cold. The door swung open, revealing Cammy's worried face. But before I could speak, the world seemed to tilt, and everything went dark.
