Michael was staring up at the ceiling with a blank expression on his face, it had been two days in the hospital, nothing else to do but watch the news, the media was still claiming him to be a murderer while most people were actually defending him saying that they didn't believe that he didn't kill those drug dealers.
Michael could only give out a small smile as the people still had appreciation for him.
His I.V was running low, hopefully the nurse or doctor will come in soon and replace it.
He could feel his recovery starting to increase little by little, he figures that his burns might take at least 2 or 3 weeks to heal fully. He'll look just like his old self again, but all except for the scars on his cheeks which were permanent. He even thought about escaping but that would only make his situation much worse, the authorities would be on the hunt for him and he can't let that happen until things settle down.
The nurse came in, "Mr. Spider-man, your have a visitor today. A professor psychiatrist."
"Send him in. Let's just get this over with."
Moments later, a middle aged doctor in a white coat walked in the room.
"Hello, Spider-man. I'm Dr. Wilson. How are you feel today?" Dr. Wilson was only met with silence from the Spider-themed hero, "Do you know why I'm here?"
"Because of the night of murder? Being burned alive? Or simply both?" Spider-man guessed with a dark voice filled with annoyance and aggression.
"Yes, Spider-man. The media claims that you've done a terrible thing. And it lead me to speak with you. I'm sure we'll have plenty to talk about. But first I'd like to discuss with learning more about you. Dr. Wilson held out his clipboard as he had a pen in hand ready to write down anything that Spider-man could give out, he asked the first question, "What were you like as a child?"
Spider-man didn't look in Dr. Wilson's direction, at this point he may as well just go ahead and get straight to the point to end this discussion to further prove his innocence, "I was a little anti-social. It was only my mother and little sister."
"I see." Dr. Wilson was writing that down on his clipboard, "Speaking of, were you born with spider like abilities?"
"...No it was just nothing more than an accident. Bitten by a radioactive spider at Empire State University in New York city at the time when I was turned 9."
"Being a hero at such a young age? It must've been difficult."
"It was a nightmare. All I've had nothing more was pain and grief for the past 10 years."
"You've suffered for such a long time?"
"We all suffer in different ways."
"A simple yes or no would suffice for now. Growing up with powers must've been hard for you."
"Mostly. I've been bullied during my school even after I've had powers, people couldn't know the real me underneath the mask. Yet here I am now, unrecognizable, disfigured, and a broken hero. How I was always meant to be."
"Yet people still look up to you."
Michael sighs, "Can they now? The friendly neighborhood Spider-man now nearly broken in the mind, body, and soul? Is that what society will think of me from now on?"
"Given your slight background, the more honest you are with me. The more I can help you."
Michael groan with annoyance as he rubbed the right side of his face, "There is it again."
"Peg your pardon?"
"How many times do I have to hear those words? 'I can help you. I want to help you' I know better, it's always bullshit with you psychiatrists. How can you help me when you can't even help yourself, Doctor? I am clearly sane as it is. You just can't even understand the shit that I go through."
