Gavi
I couldn't believe what has happened last night. Leonor came running up to me, crying. She told me she was being chased by some strange man. Then, she started to cry.
I had no clue what to do when that had happened.
The best thing I could think of was grabbing her hand and squeezing it comfortingly.
She didn't seem to mind my touch, either.
I had stood there and watched her leave after we said our goodbyes. She was beautiful, really. Everything about her was perfect. I could just tell she didn't feel the same way about me.
The guys and I had practice in the afternoon, and we all planned to go out for drinks in the evening. As long as we didn't recreate that one night, we were okay.
I was standing on the practice field, Pedri beside me. He eyed me up and down before finally speaking.
"Did you hear Princess Leonor and her family are in Barcelona for some event this weekend?" He inquired me.
I just shrugged before saying, "Oh, I didn't know that."
Pedri nudged me and shook his head, laughing.
"Just tell me you like her already! It's extremely obvious," he teased.
I didn't respond. I wasn't quite sure how I felt about her yet.
"Whatever, let's get back to practice," I said quietly.
The rest of practice continued like normal. We did drills and shooting. We played defense and tried to prevent our partner's from scoring. We worked on footwork, which is the biggest part of playing soccer.
The sun was high in the sky when we were dismissed for the day. I was sweating profusely. In the locker room, I chugged half a bottle of water and ate a granola bar before leaving for the day.
We were going out for drinks at 7 PM; it was currently 2 PM. I had plenty of time to relax. When I arrived at my house, I climbed into bed right away. I was exhausted. Practice was long and tiring, not even to mention the extensive heat. I crawled under the covers and began to doze off, my eyelids fluttering as sleep overtook me.
When I woke up a few hours later, it was beginning to get dark outside. I immediately sat up in bed, rubbing my eyes and stretching. Grabbing my phone from the nightstand, I checked the time. It was 6 PM.
I laid in bed for a while longer before I stood up, stretched, and made my way to the bathroom. I felt very refreshed; I hadn't napped like that in a while.
I pulled on a cream colored polo and a pair of blue shorts. I fluffed my hair in the mirror and sprayed some extra cologne around my neck. Just in case.
I grabbed my phone and keys from the nightstand, making my way out of the front door and locking it behind me. I was greeted with the hustle and bustle of Barcelona immediately. It was a beautiful night, and the air felt warm and welcoming.
I walked to my car, starting it up and driving away. When I reached the bar, I parked in a spot and got out, stretching. João was walking down the sidewalk, and I caught sight of him before he walked inside.
