                                                                                            Leonor

     1 Month Later

One month had passed since Gavi had asked me to be his girlfriend. It already felt like such a fever dream. After everything that we had gone through, we were finally together. Officially, at least.

The four of us had left London the next day to return home, and I couldn't have been happier. My best friend, my sister, and my boyfriend. The three people I cared about the most.

The flight was good, but a little bumpy. I had slept most of the way, and when I had woke up, we were already on the ground in Madrid.

Gavi's friends had been waiting for us. They congratulated him and told him how happy they were to have us back.

     I couldn't be happier.

It felt so right having him here with me, with his friends, with the club he loved.

I returned to my royal duties and enjoyed the remainder of fall in Madrid. This year was particularly pretty, with the leaves swirling around the streets and changing color rapidly. It was like something out of a movie.

My parents had allowed Sofia to continue with her travel soccer team, after a little bit of convincing, that is. Let's just say I'm now the best big sister ever.

I went to a few of her games, and she truly is amazing. I hope she continues it throughout her life.

I had spent plenty of time with Gio and Chloe, along with Hannah and Elena. They had all come to visit me multiple times since arriving home from London, and it was more than I could have ever asked for.

My mother and father were happy to see me with someone that I loved. They knew how much I cared about Gavi. They knew that I would do anything for him, even if that meant flying to London and driving through a terrible storm.

So when Gavi had invited me to a dinner downtown with his friends, I asked him if I could bring my friends, too.

Without a doubt, he had said yes.

Here we were, getting dressed in the bathroom. Elena and Hannah were arguing about what to wear, and Chloe was wiping some mascara off from underneath her eye. This was girlhood. I wasn't ashamed of it either.

"Let me do your hair, Leonor," Chloe said, tying my hair up into a ponytail and slick it back for me. We all got dressed into matching dresses, and did each other's makeup.

I loved my friends; I really did. I loved them with all of my heart. I wouldn't be the young woman I was today without them here, by my side.

Even though this dinner was meant for friends, I had to invite Sofia, too. After all, she was still my friend.

"Sofia!" I called, pounding on her door. She opened it in a heartbeat, all dressed and ready to go. Her brown hair was curled around her shoulders and she was wearing a short white dress. She looked stunning.

I gave her a big hug before leasing them all downstairs and to the limo. Mario was waiting for us, a big grin on his face. I gave him a hug as I entered the vehicle, and I pulled away to look into his eyes.

"I have a little surprise for you," I said, digging into my purse and pulling out a spread of money, along with a little keychain engraved with his name.

I dropped the items into his hand, and he looked as if he was about to cry. Mario lifted his head to speak when I shushed him with a finger.

"No talking! You deserve this for all that I do," I smiled, before entering the vehicle and making space for all of my friends. Once we were all situated, Mario started the ignition and drive us downtown in a hurry.

It reminded me of my first date with Gavi.

     That seemed so long ago.

We reached the restaurant in a hurry, and Mario parked the limo to help us out. I was last to leave, so when he took my hand to assist me, he gave it a little squeeze.

"Have the best time, princess. Remember, I'm always at your assistance," he whispered, motioning for me to follow my friends. I gave him a quick wave before scurrying inside.

Sure enough, there was a big table in the corner packed with people I knew. As all of us girls settled down, I took in the crowd.

Of course, Gavi was there. He kissed me with no shame, and everyone cheered. It was the first time we had ever kissed in front of any of our friends.

Gavi had brought João Felix, Pedri, Hector Fort, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal. I spotted Jude Bellingham, an English footballer, who was Gio's best friend. Gio sat beside him, and the two of them were laughing hysterically.

Chloe slid in beside her boyfriend, and Hannah and Elena greeted everyone as they joined me on my side of the table. Sofia gushed to all of the players how she was a huge fan, and I couldn't help but smile.

     I loved my sister.

After everyone had gotten settled and started to drink from their champagne glasses, I clinked my spoon against mine to signal an incoming toast. Everyone looked up, even Sofia and Lamine, who had taken small portions of champagne for this occasion.

"I'm so happy I get to see you all today. This means a lot to me. We really are all blessed to have each other," I started, and they all cheered, twirling their champagne around in their glasses. Gavi gave my leg a squeeze, and it made me blush a little.

"I want to make a toast to all of us. I want to celebrate our friendship, and how we can all grow it in the next chapter of our lives. I want to toast to Gavi, the man I love. I want to toast to the girls who brought me here today. Finally, I want to toast to my sister, Sofia. I'm so proud of the young woman you've become," I continued, feeling tears sting the corners of my eyes.

I had never felt this way about a group of people in so long.

"Cheers to us!" I laughed, holding up my glass for everybody to clink. We all agreed, taking swigs of our champagne. I have Sofia a side hug, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Everyone looked so happy. I was so lucky to have a group of people as amazing as them.

As I took in everyone's delighted faces, I knew this wasn't the end of my story. It was certainly a new chapter, that's for sure.

This chapter of my life was just beginning.
