~Chapter 21~

     Life had certainly taken a change, for the better. I had started seeing Gavi more, out of his games. They weren't dates, but they were more like hang outs. We went out to eat, we went to the movies, we went on walks in the park, we played soccer together. 

     We barely mentioned the kiss, though. We never did it again either. It was like an unsaid burden that we both wanted to talk about, but couldn't.

     I didn't regret anything. I knew he didn't either.

     He bought me flowers, he bought me small little gifts. He even bought me one of the new bags I had found when we were window shopping.

     He cared about me, and I knew it. It was all so hard to wrap my head around.

     It was late September in Madrid. The heat was beginning to fade for the year, and autumn was creeping in. The few trees we had in the city were beginning to turn amber and gold. The air was chilly and crisp, even in the afternoon.

     Sofia had started attending school again. Since I was busy with my royal duties, I wasn't in school anymore. It was lonely in the palace, I'll admit. I wished I had someone around sometimes.

     Chloe and Gio had come to visit me once since everything had shifted. I gave them a tour of the palace, and they had stayed for hours. Their company was all I could ask for.

     I knew Hannah and Elena were coming to visit Madrid in a few weeks, and they had mentioned meeting up with me. I had eagerly said yes.

     For now, life was quiet. It was peaceful. I wouldn't change a thing. I had my friends and my family, and that was all I needed.

     I opened my phone early the next morning to see a ton of messages from my friends. My phone was blowing up by the second as I opened it.

Goddess: I was thinking we could all take a mini vacation somewhere

Goddess: well I was thinking...

Goddess: why don't we make a trip to the United States!!!
