Leonor
I slept restlessly last night, tossing and turning for hours. I was so stressed about Gavi's decision, so worried about what he would choose for his future.
At the end of the day, his future was his own to decide. I couldn't decide for him, even if I wanted him to come home so badly.
Sofia woke up several times in the middle of the night, complaining that I was being too restless and that I was kicking her. I didn't care.
The rain continued again, and I finally fell asleep to the sound of the rain pounding on the roof.
I awoke in the morning alone in the bed. Chloe was still asleep in her own bed, and Sofia was nowhere to be seen. I figured she was getting us breakfast; my stomach was grumbling loudly.
I hadn't eaten in over half a day. Yikes.
I sat upright in bed, rubbing my tired eyes. Chloe was snoring softly, her light brown hair making a fan over her eyes. She looked so pretty when she slept, and I couldn't help but smile a little at her beauty.
Suddenly, the nerves resurfaced. I remembered what had kept me up all night long.
Today was the day that Gavi would decide his future. His future would be chosen in a matter of hours. I clenched my eyes shut at the thought, trying to block it out of my bustling brain.
If he chose to stay in London and play for Manchester City, I didn't know what I would do.
I hoped he realized what he would be losing by taking this offer. He would lose his friends, his home, his dream club, and the girl he loved.
The girl that he loved.
It hurt me to know deep down that he might not choose me.
I needed him to come home. For me, and for everything he would be losing.
I knew soccer players often accepted deals because of the money involved. I knew this offer was worth a lot. I hoped that Gavi knew his worth.
Because I sure did.
I stood up very carefully, as not to wake Chloe. She stirred a little, but didn't fully wake up.
I entered the bathroom to get ready. Gavi had invited me to join him and his coach for lunch to discuss the matters of the deal. I wanted to look and feel professional, so I chose a tan pantsuit and some black heels that I had packed. I paired it with a black purse, and I began to start my makeup.
I slicked my hair back in a bun, and applied a thin coat of foundation and concealer. I added some blush, mascara, and highlighter before spraying some perfume on my pulse points.
I admired myself in the mirror. I looked like a proper adult.
The rain had let up, thankfully, so I could walk to the restaurant without a problem. I sent Chloe a text before I left so that she knew where I went, and I wrote a note for Sofia. I left the room, locking the door behind me and making my way to the elevators. I descended to the first floor and exited into the parking lot.
