Leonor
I was playing with fire. I was risking a lot by not answering Gavi, but it had to remain that way in order for the surprise to work.
Chloe was in on the whole thing; she had been leading Pablo in the wrong direction. It was mean, I knew that. He was probably worried sick about me.
He wouldn't be after I showed up in London.
It had been a month since he had left, and I missed him too much. I needed to see him again, even if that meant flying. I wasn't the biggest fan of flying.
Chloe had told Gavi she hadn't been in contact with me for days, but in all reality, she was going to be accompanying me and Sofia on our surprise trip.
When I told my parents about my idea, they were both a little hesitant. Eventually, they agreed, knowing how bad I wanted to go. It would be a good opportunity for me to bond with Sofia a little more, they had said.
Whatever.
Chloe had arrived at the palace this morning from Germany. Gil was staying back to keep Gavi convinced nothing was happening.
Chloe and I were sprawled out on my bed, digging through our suitcases and packing everything that we needed. We were going to make a week long trip out of this, and surprising Gavi would only be one small portion.
Sofia was already packed; she liked to plan ahead.
Our flight was scheduled to leave tomorrow morning at 10 AM, but there was incoming weather that would be moving through Spain around that time. I hoped that it didn't affect our flight; we had booked our hotel for certain days and couldn't reschedule.
"I'm so tired," Chloe groaned, holding her head in her hands. She had flown all this way just for me, so I couldn't complain at all. That was what best friends did, I guess.
I would do the same thing for her in a heartbeat.
"Here, let me help you finish," I said, shoving the rest of her clothes into the suitcase. She nodded in reply and slouched down.
She looked like she hadn't slept in days.
"I tried to sleep on my flight, but there was terrible turbulence," she groaned again. I just gave her a pat on the back as I zipped up her suitcase.
"I think we both overpacked a little," I laughed, and Chloe sat up on her elbows.
"You can never overpack when it comes to Europe," she smiled. I agreed with her.
Dinner came quickly. The chefs had prepared a special meal, knowing that Chloe was visiting. They always took good care of us, especially me and Sofia.
"I'm starving," Chloe spat as we walked downstairs. Sofia, mother and father were already seated at the table. My mother waved warmly at Chloe; she had been in a meeting when Chloe had arrived.
"Hello, Chloe," she said, rising to her feet to give Chloe a hug. Chloe embraced her back, suppressing a yawn. I held my laughter back as she sat down.
"All ready for tomorrow?" I asked Sofia. She just smiled and began to ramble on about how excited she was.
Thankfully, she was cut off by the chefs bringing out the main course on silver platters. Freshly cooked salmon dusted with butter and pepper. My mouth practically started to water as I dished myself a plate.
