Gavi
I carried Leonor into the lobby, placing her down on one of the couches. The lady behind me gave us a skeptical look as I walked in. Jacob followed quickly, rushing to the back room to grab ice, I assumed.
She groaned in pain as I did so. I tried not to hurt her too much.
"Which ankle is it?" I asked gently. She pointed to her right one, wincing in pain.
Jacob returned a few minutes later with some ice and a granola bar. He handed them to her, and she thanked him, a little too nicely if you ask me.
"Do you need anything else?" He asked me. I shook my head quickly. I was glad to get rid of him.
Jacob waved goodbye and returned to his van, which was parked outside. We both watched him leave.
I placed the ice pack on her ankle and held it there steadily.
"It's so cold," she wined immediately.
"It's ice," I reminded her. "It's going to be cold."
She just rolled her eyes and laughed. We sat there for a while, awaiting the return of the others. Pretty soon, Jacob's van returned, and they all emerged. Gio and Chloe were covered in thick snow, and Hannah and Elena were too. They were all laughing.
Jacob walked them into the lobby, bringing them to a stop beside us.
"Leonor!" Chloe cried, rushing forward to give her a hug. Leonor squeezed her firmly, murmuring to Chloe that she would be okay.
"Hopefully it's just a sprain," Jacob butted in.
He was really annoying me.
"I'm going to be perfectly fine, guys. I just need rest," Leonor told the group. They all agreed anxiously.
"Let's go upstairs," Hannah said. "We can get you back to your room."
Right. Leonor didn't have a room yet. It was my room.
She seemed to read my mind.
"What about my..." She started, but I cut her off with a finger to her lips.
"We'll worry about it some other time," I warned her gently. She just sighed in exasperation and began to pull herself to her feet. I scooped her into my arms when she was in a standing pushing, grabbing the ice off of the couch as well.
We all wandered to the elevator, and Gio pressed the button, holding the door open for us. I squished into the back corner, Leonor pressed snuggly in my arms.
"I hope you feel better, Leonor," Elena said, giving her arm a small squeeze before the sisters exited the elevator.
When the elevator reached the third floor, Gio and Chloe waved goodbye to us and returned to their respective room.
I carried Leonor to our door, and she groaned in my arms.
"I want to go to my own room," she moaned. I shook my head as I unlocked the door.
"Too bad. The hotel maintenance haven't checked out your room yet," I teased.
When we reached the bedroom, I placed her down on the bed gently and moved the ice over her ankle. Leonor winced in pain, reaching out to grab my hand. She squeezed it tightly, and I let her.
Leonor closed her eyes, and for a second I thought she was asleep.
"I'm sorry I ruined your day," she said quietly, so quietly that I barely heard it.
I pushed a lock of hair out of her eyes as she looked at me.
"You didn't ruin anything, Leonor. I'm just glad you're okay," I smiled. She tried to smile, but it looked a little strained to me.
She just nodded and laid back on the bed again. I stared at her for a while. She looked drained, even though we barely did anything besides skiing.
"Do you ever miss your family?" She asked me suddenly. I tensed up a little as I cleared my throat.
"Every single day. It's hard not being around them all the time, you know?" I said quietly, and she sat up, being careful not to dislodge her ice pack.
"Do you ever wish you didn't play soccer?" She asked me.
I just shrugged and sighed.
"Not really. Soccer is my passion. Soccer is something that I love to do, and will always love to do," I answered simply. She just nodded, staring straight ahead at the wall.
"I wish I had a passion," Leonor sighed. I looked at her, puzzled.
"I'm sure you have a passion for something," I pointed out.
"Not really. I'm not good at anything," she laughed. I couldn't believe that could be true. She was good at many things. She was good at flirting, she was great at being a good leader, and she was an amazing friend. Even if she didn't vote those things as passions, I did.
"Don't lie to yourself, Leonor. You're a great person, a great friend and a great leader. You'll make a great Queen one day," I told her. It wasn't a lie.
She just smiled, and this smile looked more genuine, which made me breathe a sigh of relief.
"Thanks," she responded, fiddling with her ice pack.
"For everything," she added. I grinned back at her, and I could feel a slight blush forming on my cheeks.
We both stared at each other for a moment longer before I started to lean in. Leonor did the same, and soon we were kissing. It was only our second kiss, but it felt so natural. She was the only woman that I felt natural kissing.
My hand went to her hair, and I massaged her cheek gently. She had her hands wrapped around my neck, deepening the kiss as she scooted closer to me.
We both pulled away, staring at each other. I thought that she would get up and leave, but instead, she pulled me back into her by my shirt collar. I kissed her gently at first, then more fiercely. Nobody had ever made me feel this way before. This passionate, ever.
When we both pulled away for the second time, it felt peaceful. Leonor angled her body against mine, laying her head in the crook of my neck. I patted her hair gently, and we sat there in bed, staring out at the snowflakes falling past the window.
In those few moments, my life felt perfect. If this is what I could have for the rest of my life, I would be satisified.
Cute lil chapter for u guys it's pretty short hahaha
The plot twist is coming up soon so I'm sorry in advance💀
