                                                                                            Leonor

I was sprawled out on the bed, arms thrown over my head. Sofia was in the chair, calling mother and father to update them about our perilous day. Chloe was downstairs getting us dinner from the dining hall.

This had been the worst day ever. The rain still pummeled the roof, and it slammed against the big glass window. We had a nice enough hotel room, with two small beds and a chair. A TV and a desk adorned the corner of the room across from a small bathroom. It would have to do for one night.

I had checked the radar several times - the weather wasn't going to be letting up anytime soon. There was no chance of us making it to see Gavi tonight, unless we walked.

     Unless we walked....

Call me crazy, but I was crazy enough to fly here for him.

I stood up, grabbing my rain jacket and umbrella. Sofia gave me a weird look, cupping the bottom of her phone.

She gave me a peculiar look. I just gave her a smirk. She knew what I was about to do.

Just then, Chloe entered the room carrying a tray of food. She took one puzzled look at me before setting the tray down on the desk. She locked the door behind her before entering the bedroom.

"Are you a damn idiot?" She yelled, giving me a shove.

"We came all this way, I need to see him," I shrugged.

"It's pouring outside, Leonor! What if you get lost? What if something happens to you?" She spat.

I shrugged again, stuffing my phone into my purse and pulling my jacket over my shoulders. Sofia had hung up the phone, so her and Chloe stared at me in shock.

"You really love him, don't you?" Sofia whispered. I nodded, giving them a small smile.

Chloe sat down on the bed and sighed.

"Then go, Leonor. If this is what you're willing to do for him, do it," she murmured.

Giving them one last look, I left the room, locking the door behind me.

I was crazy. I was fucking mental.

No, I wasn't. I was crazy in love.

I would do anything for him, even walk miles in the pouring rain to see him.

I exited the hotel, standing underneath the awning and watching the rain fall. It was eerie, the pale lights glimmering against the sheets of water. I pulled out my phone and started the GPS to his hotel.

     4 miles. Shit.

     I had to do this.

I stepped out into the rain with my umbrella poised above my head, springing through the parking lot. The faster I could get there, the better chance I would have of seeing him. I entered the sidewalk and followed it down a busy road.

Other people that passed me gave me strange looks, but I didn't care. They were outside in the pouring rain, too. Probably not running off to find their lovers, but still.

I came upon a crosswalk, standing by the wait. My hair was already soaking wet, and water was whipping into my face terribly fast. I could barely see the light turn white, signaling that I could cross.

I kept walking in the direction of the hotel, being careful not to run into anything in my clumsiness. I stumbled once over a pothole in the sidewalk, but I caught my balance before I fell.

Suddenly, a car drove up beside me and hit the big puddle. It splashed me, drenching me from head to toe. Now I was soaking and cold. Great combination.

I muttered curses at the driver before standing up straight and moving forward. I was getting close, my GPS said. I shoved my phone back into my purse and kept walking. Another mile or so and I would be there. I was doing great on time too.

I passed a young woman and her little child walking down the sidewalk, and I gave them a friendly wave. They smiled back, despite the rain, and that gave me the slightest bit of hope.

I hoped that Gavi hadn't gotten done early. That he was taking an indoor tour somewhere and that his practice hadn't been cancelled. This would all be for nothing if that was the case.

Finally, after what felt like hours of trekking through the downpour, I spotted the neon hotel sign. I entered the parking lot, my sneakers squeaking against the pavement. There weren't very many cars there, so that was promising. I didn't spot his car from what I could see, and that made my heart jump a little.

It was a stunning hotel, with white walls and modern architecture on the outside. We would have been staying here as well. Oh well.

I found a secluded bus stop at the edge of the parking lot. It was a shield to the rain, so it was my best option. I sat there, crossing my legs and pulling out my phone from my purse. Lots of waiting unfolded.

I texted Sofia and Chloe, informing them that I had made it and that Gavi wasn't here yet. Chloe couldn't believe it, and Sofia just laughed. I shut my phone off and placed in back into my purse to keep it from getting more wet.

A car entered the parking lot, and I immediately stood up. If it was him, this was my chance. I watched the car park, and bit my lip nervously, preparing to make a mad dash.

A blonde woman stepped out of the car, unfolding an umbrella and scurrying into the hotel. I sat back down, rolling my eyes and scoffing a little. What an idiot I was. For all I knew, he wouldn't be here for hours yet.

Just as I was considering to leave and head back home, another car pulled into the parking lot. This car was black, and I recognized it as his. It was very familiar to me.

     Bingo.

I scurried through the parking lot, stopping just out of sight of his car. Sure enough, it was him, wearing a soccer jersey and athletic shorts. He grabbed a paper bag from the front seat and slammed the door, moving towards the hotel.

This was it. My only chance.

"Pablo!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I hoped he could hear me above the pounding rain.

My heart dropped to my stomach when he heard me. He spun around, squinting into the rain.

He spotted me immediately. His face lit up, and a hint of shock washed over his vision. He couldn't believe that I was here, standing in front of him in the pouring rain. In a different country after he hadn't heard from me for days.

     "Leonor," I heard him whisper.

It was at that moment that I knew he was in love with me. It was at that moment that I knew this entire ordeal had been completely worth it.
