What was going on in my mind when I accidentally almost kissed Taehyung?

Why did I raise my chin up and look into those brown eyes?

It was a mistake. A terrible one.

Making excuses again. The little voice in my head spoke to me again.

No, I am not. I was intoxicated and off-guard.

You only had one glass of a cocktail. And you loved it when he praised you.

No. I didn't

Yes, you absolutely did.

Fuck you.

Call it what you want to, but that will not change the fact that you were drawn to him in that moment.

Well, it is true that I wanted him to kiss me in that moment. I wanted to feel those lush lips on me, sucking the air out of my lungs. I loved when he whispered that I was the most captivating person he had met. My heartbeat had spiked when he tucked a strand of my air, and my pulse raced when he said that maybe he also fell for me once.

But deep down, I knew it was all a game to him. He was a master at manipulating emotions, and I was just another pawn in his twisted game of love and deceit.

It was a pure slip-up. Even he said it was a mistake.

"But it is the truth that you are the most captivating person I have met, and you could make any man fall for you."

"Did you really fall?"

"Maybe, but I caught myself just in time."

He must have said that to make me feel better. There was no truth to his words after all. How could he say I was the most captivating person when he always gets under my skin and infurates me on purpose?

It was a pure slip up on my part. I was just caught off guard because of motherfucker John.

But it is all over. It was one night.

"Ms. Volkov, what are you thinking?" Nathan, my new producer, interrupted my thoughts. "Is something wrong with the contract?"

I was here on the next morning after the gala meeting my new producer as soon as I could as I have only five months to make and release an album.

"No, the contract is amazing. It captures my interests at best. I was just lost in some memories for a moment there. And please call me Sofia." I replied with a forced smile. Nathan nodded understandingly.

"I cannot be the same as Dave for you. So I guess it must be hard to work with me for a while." Nathan remarked.

Nathan was a handsome man. His body was lean and fit. His bronze skin and dark hair made him more and more gravitating. His sharp features and piercing blue eyes added to his allure. His personality was something I liked. Nathan's confident demeanor and easy charm made it clear why he was so successful in his field. Despite his striking appearance and perfect demeanor, I didn't feel any spark of attraction towards him.

"Don't worry, Nathan. I'm sure we'll make a great team," I reassured him, hoping to ease any tension between us.

"I feel the same way. That's why I was deliberately looking to work with you for years, but you seemed to have a perfect producer with you all the time. I was shocked when Dave himself called me to offer me this." Nathan admitted. "But then I heard the news. It was sad."

"I know. I feel grateful toward him for arranging everything for me before he passed, so that I wouldn't be left without a partner," I replied, touched by Nathan's honesty. "I'm looking forward to working with you, Nathan. I think we can create something truly special together."
