"What have you planned, Tae?" Sofia asks softly from my side as Tobias comes to the podium to deliver his first speech as CEO. Today is the orientation ceremony.
I could already see the glee on Tobias's face as he confidently addressed the crowd, outlining his vision for the company's future. If he were to lead the company, he would crash the empire to ground in just two days.
Good thing it is not happening.
I turn to Sofia and whisper, "I have a feeling big changes are coming."
"Is this sarcasm in your tone?" Sofia asks in pure confusion.
"Baby, you told me to win my kingdom back, and that's exactly what I plan to do," I reply with a smirk. "Just watch and see."
"It won't include blood or something. It makes me want to puke." Sofia says, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
"No, although it will include some strategic maneuvering and a bit of cunning," I respond, trying to reassure her. "I promise you, it will all be worth it in the end."
"Lia!" Sofia grins when she spots her friend with her husband and calls her over to our table. "Thank God you are here, or else Tae would have bored me to death." She whispers slyly to her friend but keeps her voice high enough for me to hear.
After I humiliate and destroy Tobias to ashes, I will teach her a lesson.
"As I said, even your own girlfriend thinks you are a boring wanker, Young." Marco gives me his mocking grin before turning back to his conversation with the others at the table.
"Don't worry, I've got your back," Lia says, giving me a reassuring smile. "Your stories are certainly more interesting than Marco's."
"You deserve all the happiness, Lia." I flip a middle finger to Marco.
"Hey, diamond. Whose side are you on?" Marco gives his wife an offended look. He and I belong to a family with money that is so old to be put in museums, and we could have avoided this stupid day so easily, but we love to watch drama and chaos unfold around us. Especially Marco, who thrives on conflict and competition.
"Easy, Tae's. He is the most charming here." Lia answers, but her laughter gutters down when Marco whispers something into her ear, and her whole face turns into a beautiful shade of crimson.
"You are going to regret your previous statements, Puella." I whisper into Sofia's ear.
"Exactly what I want." Sofia whispers back in an erotic tone and traces a finger along my jawline.
"Get yourself a room, wanker." Marco calls out, a smirk playing on his lips as he watches us interact.
"Or better yet, take it outside," Lia adds with a mischievous grin, clearly enjoying the playful banter between us.
"Later, for sure. But now, its time for the show." I smirk as I shoot a text to someone, and the screen behind Tobias starts suddenly.
"I should have brought popcorn." Marco gives me a smile, his eyes genuinely showing interest.
"I thought it was an orientation ceremony." Lia mutters while Sofia watches in delight, already knowing that it's all my doing.
The screen lights up with a montage of embarrassing photos and videos of Tobias, much to his dismay. First, there are photos of documents and contracts with very shady deals and arrangements highlighted. Tax evasion, embezzlement, and money laundering are just a few of the crimes listed. Tobias pales as he realizes the extent of his exposure, and the room falls silent in shock.
I watch Melany watching in shock as she sees her saint of an uncle being revealed as a fraud. The atmosphere in the room becomes tense as Tobias struggles to come up with an explanation for his actions.
