Tw: abuse and drug mentions.
Siobhan got home that evening and was ready to sleep. She knew that was unlikely however.
"Who the fuck do you think you are?" Roger said angrily.
"You dirty little bitch. I can't believe you think I wouldn't find out." Siobhan was instantly terrified. She stuck close to the wall behind her."I have cameras all over the nursery. I saw you today, with that parent." Siobhan was shocked. She knew it was strictly against every rule in the book to have cameras anywhere in the nursery that wasn't a corridor or outside. It was an insane breach of safeguarding. They weren't allowed to have any cameras in the rooms, or in the office to firstly protect the children and secondly, to avoid any sensitive information from meetings being released.
"I can't believe you'd go hanging around women, I didn't take you to be a-" Siobhan couldn't believe that he would even use such a word.
She apologised profusely. Begging for forgiveness.
Siobhan struggled to remember the rest of the night. She was kept up until the early hours of the next morning. She knew she would struggle in the nursery the next morning.
Roger woke her up, she couldn't tell if she had slept or if her body had shut down in an attempt to protect herself.
"You need to set her straight, cut her off" roger whispered as his face was nuzzled into the side of her neck. She felt gross. She looked down and realised she was in a state of undress. She clutched at the duvets to hide herself.
"You belong to me, I love you" he said gruff. It was those 3 little words that made Siobhan believe it was okay. He loved her, that was more than most people would be able to do.
"I can't have that nasty woman thinking she can have what's mine" he said in his 'gentle' voice. Siobhan found no safety in this man. She stayed silent.
"If you don't deal with her today, I will." Siobhan's heart dropped hearing this. "Do you understand me?"
"What are you going to do to her?!" She said panicked. Her voice was hoarse. She was obviously dehydrated.
"That's for me to know. And hopefully you won't find out. As long as you do what I say." He paused. "I can't believe you're showing concern for her. She's trying to ruin our relationship. She's trying to weasel her way in and take you from me." Siobhan's head was spinning. She couldn't help but believe this in the moment, but upon reflection later in the nursery, she knew it was false."Okay I'm sorry" she whispered. "I need to get ready for work." She said getting out of bed and wrapping the duvet around herself.
"You will deal with this yes? I'll be checking all day Siobhan" he said following her.
"Yes roger, just trust me this once. It will be dealt with by the end of the day." Siobhan said as she locked the bathroom door."Okay good, I'll let you pretty yourself up" he said walking away.
She dropped to the floor once she was in the bathroom. Vivian had become a safety blanket for her yesterday. She didn't have to think about anything, or worry about anything when she was with Vivian. She was devastated to know their friendship would come to an end. All because of Rogers insecurities.
Maybe he was right to be insecure? Siobhan hadn't dealt with her attraction to women in aeons and she didn't know if she felt anything towards Vivian. She knew she could love Vivian. She didn't think she wanted to, but Vivian was an easy person for Siobhan to fall for. She was easygoing and fiercely protective. She was strong, and not just physically. She had moved half way across the country with a toddler and still walked around with a smile on her face.
She stifled her sobs with the duvet. Holding it over her face to make sure she was quiet. Her body shook violently with each and every breath she took. She needed to get it out before she went to work. If she was going to keep to her word and deal with this, she had to feel completely void of any emotion. That was going to be a near impossible task.
She stood up and looked at herself in the mirror. She knew roger would probably find something to be upset with her about the following night. But if she didn't talk to Vivian and set the record straight, she would be covered in more bruises and cuts than she already was. She didn't even know how they appeared sometimes. She would often shut down and be left with no memory of Rogers attack.
Once she was dressed and ready she mwent to roger. Her body was aching from the night before. She needed something to numb the pain.
"There's my pretty girl" he smiled.
"Do you have any of the painkillers?" She wasn't sure what they were exactly but they helped. She was good at identifying pills for the most part, but she could never work out what the one specific pain killer was. The one that made her life bearable."Nope" he said popping the p. "You don't deserve them right now, if you deal with this today, I'll have something waiting for you in the evening. How does that sound?" His tone was condescending. He knew he had her trapped if she was reliant on him for drugs.
"Okay" she said. Not long later she left for work.
It was going to be a long day.
