Upcoming mission
_______

The rest of the day passed in a blur as Jennie prepared for the night’s mission. She meticulously checked her gear, ensuring everything was in place and functional. Her mind was focused on the task ahead, and she welcomed the distraction from her earlier encounter with Taehyung.

As night fell, Jennie wasn’t nervous. She had been on countless missions before, and her confidence was unwavering. She dressed in her black tactical gear, securing her weapons and equipment with practiced ease. Every movement was precise, every detail accounted for.

She headed down to the meeting room, where the rest of the Dark Ravens were already gathered. The atmosphere was tense, charged with the anticipation of the upcoming mission. Taehyung stood at the head of the table, his presence commanding and authoritative.

“Everyone, take your seats,” Taehyung ordered, his voice firm and steady.

Jennie found a seat near the front, her eyes on Taehyung as he began to speak. He projected an image of calm confidence, but there was an edge to his demeanor that suggested the gravity of the mission.

“This is the layout of the bar,” Taehyung began, pointing to a large map spread out on the table. “Our intel suggests it’s heavily guarded, but we’ve identified key entry points and vulnerabilities.”

He traced a path with his finger, highlighting various positions. “Jungkook will handle the front entrance. Rose will be inside, taking care of surveillance and neutralizing any threats that arise. The rest of the team will provide backup as needed.”

Taehyung’s gaze shifted to Jennie, his expression serious. “Jennie, you have the most difficult part. You’ll take the back entrance. It’s usually less guarded, but don’t let your guard down. Once inside, you need to secure the path for the rest of us and retrieve the diamond.”

Jennie nodded, her expression focused. She appreciated the trust Taehyung was placing in her, but she also understood the weight of the responsibility. Failure was not an option.

Taehyung continued, “The rival gang knows we’re coming, so expect resistance. Stay sharp and stick to the plan. Communication is key. Use your earpieces to stay in contact and report any issues immediately.”

He paused, letting his words sink in. The room was silent, the gravity of the mission clear to everyone present. “Remember, this mission is critical. We need to send a clear message to our rivals. Failure is not an option.”

A chorus of affirmatives followed, the determination in their voices palpable. Taehyung’s gaze settled on Jennie once more. “Do you have any questions?”

Jennie shook her head. “No. I’m ready.”

Taehyung nodded, a hint of approval in his eyes. “Good. Let’s get this done.”

With the briefing concluded, the team moved to gather their gear and head out. Jennie felt a surge of adrenaline, her mind sharp and ready for the challenge ahead. She knew this mission was a test of her skills and her ability to work with the Dark Ravens. She was determined to prove herself.

As they moved out, Taehyung’s voice came through her earpiece, calm and steady. “Stay focused, everyone. We’ve got this.”

Jennie took a deep breath, her resolve unwavering. The mission was about to begin, and she was ready.

The mission briefing concluded, and the team moved to gather their gear and head out. Each member was acutely aware of their role and the importance of precision in their execution. They separated into different cars, each group tasked with a specific part of the plan.

Jennie, Taehyung, and Jimin climbed into one sleek black SUV. Jungkook, Lisa, and Jin took another car, while Rosé, Jisoo, and RM shared a third vehicle. Suga, equipped with his hacking gear, settled into the medic van, ready to provide emergency support and real-time intel.

The atmosphere in the SUV was tense but focused. Taehyung drove, his eyes fixed on the road ahead, while Jimin sat in the back, his gaze flickering between Jennie and Taehyung. Jennie, seated in the passenger seat, adjusted her gear one last time, ensuring everything was in place.

As they drove through the darkened streets, the silence in the car was filled with unspoken thoughts and the hum of the engine. Jennie could feel the weight of Taehyung's presence beside her, a steady, grounding force in the midst of the impending chaos.

"Jennie," Taehyung broke the silence, his voice low and steady. "You sure you're ready for this?"

She turned to face him, her expression unwavering. "I've been ready for this my whole life. Don't worry about me."

Taehyung's eyes met hers, and for a moment, the intensity of his gaze made her heart skip a beat. There was something about the way he looked at her—an unspoken understanding, a connection that transcended words.

"You've got the hardest part," he said, his voice softer now, almost intimate. "But I wouldn't have given it to you if I didn't think you could handle it."

Jennie felt a warmth spread through her chest at his words. It was rare for her to feel truly seen, but in that moment, she knew Taehyung understood her in a way few people did.

"I won't let you down," she replied, her voice firm.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of Taehyung's lips. "I know you won't."

The silence that followed was comfortable, the earlier tension easing just slightly. Jennie found herself stealing glances at Taehyung, noting the way the streetlights cast shadows across his sharp features. There was an undeniable magnetism about him, a blend of strength and vulnerability that drew her in.

As they approached the rendezvous point, Taehyung slowed the car, pulling into a secluded alleyway. The other vehicles followed suit, and soon the team was gathered, ready to move.

Taehyung turned to Jennie one last time, his expression serious but warm. "Stay close and stay sharp. We'll get through this."

Jennie nodded, her resolve stronger than ever. "Let's do this."

With a final nod, Taehyung opened his door, stepping out into the night. Jennie followed, her heart pounding with anticipation and a newfound determination to prove herself, not just to the Dark Ravens, but to Taehyung as well.
