ESCAPE

As the team moved stealthily through the shadows, guards were taken down one by one in silence. Jungkook and Jin expertly maneuvered around corners, catching unsuspecting men off-guard and rendering them unconscious with swift, precise blows. Namjoon and Jimin slipped in through the side entrance, quietly hacking into the security system and disabling cameras without raising the slightest alarm. Lisa and Rose stayed outside, watching every move with hawk-like precision, ensuring no one got in—or out—without their knowing.

Inside, Taehyung and J-Hope made their way through the narrow hallways of the massive warehouse, each step calculated and cautious. They encountered several guards, but the two moved like shadows, eliminating their targets before they could even react. Taehyung’s eyes were cold, his expression hard as he moved forward, searching every dark corner, every room. Jennie had to be here somewhere.

“Clear,” J-Hope whispered as they took down another guard at the entrance to a larger room, dragging him silently out of sight. Taehyung gave a brief nod, and they pushed the door open, moving inside.

But unknown to them, in a hidden control room upstairs, a lone figure stood watching the entire scene unfold through the remaining security feeds. Kai’s eyes narrowed as he observed the team systematically dismantling the defenses, one guard after another falling to their combined efforts. A small, unreadable smile tugged at his lips.

“They’re good,” he muttered to himself, a hint of admiration flickering in his gaze as he saw Taehyung’s group move with precision and skill. They were working like a well-oiled machine, a true team. But for Kai, this wasn’t just about their abilities.

This was his chance.

He glanced over at a set of screens on the side. One of them showed Jennie, still tied to the chair in that cold, dark room, bruised and battered. His chest tightened, a surge of anger and guilt flashing through him. This wasn’t what he wanted for her. He never wanted to see her like this—helpless and broken. But Kai knew that now wasn’t the time to wallow in guilt.

“Alright,” he murmured softly, his gaze shifting back to the screens where the others continued to advance. “If you want to save her, then let’s see what you can really do.”

With a quick glance around to ensure no one was watching him, Kai swiftly pulled out his phone and sent a coded message through a secure channel. The message was simple: “Sector 4—east wing. Exit clear in 5.”

Then, he moved quickly, grabbing a set of keys from a nearby hook and slipping out of the control room. He couldn’t help them openly—if the Boss or his men noticed him acting out of line, it would ruin everything. But there were other ways to tip the scales in their favor.

Moving silently down the hallway, Kai headed toward a series of locked doors on the east side of the building. This area was usually reserved for high-priority captives or storage of sensitive information. And right now, it was heavily guarded—except for the exit door at the far end, which led outside through a back route.

When Kai reached the corridor, he paused, listening carefully. The guards here were on alert, likely due to the intruders causing havoc on the other side of the building. But they were still unaware of the team’s exact location.

Taking a deep breath, Kai slipped through a side passage that led to the back entrance. The guards didn’t even see him coming as he rounded a corner and quickly knocked out the two stationed there, one by one. He dragged their bodies into the shadows, then turned and unlocked the door with the set of keys he’d taken.

The exit swung open, revealing a narrow alley that led into the dense woods surrounding the warehouse.

“There,” he whispered, a determined gleam in his eyes. “If they’re as good as they seem, they’ll find her—and get her out.”
