disco pang pang is a large circular ride that spins and bounces up and down. You sit at the edge of the circle with no seatbelts and just hold on. The ride is also known for trying to create romance between the riders (of course, asking their age and making sure that they're legal age first). read more here: https://www.ciee.org/go-abroad/college-study-abroad/blog/disco-pang-pang-ride-your-life

you were in Korea to visit your best friends, Minju and Sora. unlike yourself, who moved away to Japan for university, they stayed in Korea and found the love of their lives. Minju had even married her long-time boyfriend of three years.

yet you were single as fuck.

"let's go have fun at the amusement park," Sora suggested, "that'll get you back into Korean culture again."

shaking your head with a fond smile, you remarked, "are you going to force me to go on the disco pang pang again?"

"how'd you read our minds?" Minju joked playfully.

when the girl trio arrived in the line, it was packed with people, eager to be on the iconic ride that connected many people together.

it was basically the moderator (controller of the ride) being cupid the whole time.

"let's go, Y/Nnie," Sora smirked, "go find your love."

she nudged you forward, causing you to almost crash into the group of males in front of you. looking up, they were tall. like really tall. the shortest one in the group was at least a head taller than you.

the trio finally got on the ride, holding on to the bars behind them tightly.

"are you all ready?" the moderator's cheeky voice asked.

"yes!" everyone cheered, eager for the ride to start. you were not eager whatsoever, just very nervous for what would happen.

the ride started, with the force so large, that some ladies were starting to rock out of their seats.

"oi! how old are you? the one in the purple shirt!" the moderator asked.

with wide eyes, you realized he was asking you.

"I'm twenty-one," you replied.

"and how about you, black shirt next to her?" the moderator asked with a smirk on his face.

turning your head to the left, you realized it was the male who was in that tall group in front of you in line earlier. he had a black face mask and a baseball cap on.

"I'm twenty-one also," he replied.

"come on, purple, get closer!" the moderator cheered as he controlled the ride down purposefully trying to get you closer to the male.

you could barely hold on as you lost your grip easily. Minju and Sora had cheeky smiles on their faces the whole time as they held on tightly. as Korean residents, of course they had a strong grip.

"come on, black shirt, help her!" the moderator ordered as the male's eyes widened when he realized that you were like a rag doll on the ride.

it didn't help that you were short, small, and thin.

quickly, he reached out his arm for you to grab. smiling gratefully, you accepted his hand as he pulled you close to his chest, protecting you from the ride's fierce rockings.

"hooray! everyone, they're close together now!" the moderator's voice yelled happily as the riders smiled at the two.

"thank you," you whispered softly, accidentally in Japanese.

"you're Japanese!?" the male's eyes widened with surprise.

"you're Japanese!?" you asked in disbelief.

"oh look, they have insane chemistry!" the moderator pointed at the two, "they're even communicating in some language that I know not of!"

"goddamnit," the male cursed softly, "the moderator does want us together."

"we should talk after the ride, I feel like a rag doll right now," you chuckled as you struggled to hold on tightly.

"I'm here," the male replied. you could feel him smile behind his mask.

"what's your name?" the male asked when the ride was over. the two of you walked out, side by side.

"L/N Y/N," you smiled, "how about you?"

"Takahashi Ran," the tall male replied, "are you not Japanese?"

"I'm not," you chuckled, "I'm Korean, but I moved to Japan after graduating high school for university."

"woah," Ran said in awe.

"you look like a foreigner," you confessed, "I wouldn't have imagined that you had a Japanese name."

"my mother's half-German," Ran said, "but my father's Japanese."

"we should meet up again soon," you smiled softly.

"you can always find me at NSSU," Ran smiled as he gave you his phone number.

"NSSU!?" you gasped in disbelief, "that's amazing! what major?"

"I play sports," Ran chuckled, "volleyball, more specifically. so sports major. how about you?"

"I'm a business major at Tokyo uni," you admitted.

"that's even better," Ran exclaimed, "I don't get why you're surprised at me."

"is it not okay to be modest sometimes?" you teased.

never could you expect to meet and talk with a complete stranger because of the korean ride for so long.

fast forward to now, the two of you are dating.

fate really wanted you together, huh?

"what are you thinking about, darling?" Ran asked as he back-hugged you, resting his chin on the top of your head.

"nothing," you smiled, "just remembering the first time we met."

"oh that was epic," Ran laughed, his beautiful laughter filling the room, "I never would have imagined that I would date someone I met on an amusement park ride."

"I know right," you agreed, "but I couldn't ask for more. I got you."

"I love you so much," Ran leaned down the kiss you softly, but then he complained, "you're so short though."

"you're too tall," you fired back with a pout spreading on your lips.

"I am a volleyball player after all," Ran chuckled as he leaned down to kiss you one more time.

this was a random idea, but probably the best idea I could ever had. wishing that I meet my future boyfriend like this T_T
