Captain's Got A Date

"Ran Takahashi and Y/N L/N, can you demonstrate what NSSU looks for on the team?" Coach Tanaka asked the two captains.

"Hai, Coach!" Ran and Y/N said at the same time as they went to grab a ball.

Ran started by serving hard onto Y/N who dug it quite well.

Then, Ran set the ball back to Y/N, who smacked it back to Ran.

This continued until Ran accidentally dig the ball a tad bit too the left and Y/N couldn't set it up in time.

"Great work, you two! This is what we look for. On both the boys and the girls team," Coach Tanaka said sternly as the freshmen nodded.

"Now, let's split you all into teams," Coach Tanaka said. Ran and Y/N were on opposite teams while the others were split into the teams.

"You're so going down, Ran-san," Y/N chuckled as she adjusted her pony-tail.

"No, you're going to et crushed, Y/N-san," Ran stuck out his tongue childishly as Y/N laughed at his antics.

"We'll just let fate decide. If I win, you better get me that bubble tea," Y/N smirked.

"Deal, as long as you go out on a date with me when I win," Ran said smoothly as the freshmen oohed.

"Coach, are we supposed to learn Ran-senpai's smoothness as well?" One of the freshmen joked.

"Definitely," Coach Tanaka nodded.

In the end, after an intense match, Ran's team won.

"So date?" Ran smirked as Y/N rolled her eyes.

"Sure, where and when?" Y/N asked.

"Ice cream shop, and right now," Ran smiled as Y/N nodded.

"Deal, after we packed up our stuff," Y/N said as she started to walk away before adding, "wait for me in front of the gym!"

"Let's go!" Ran smiled as he and Y/N interlocked hands.

The whole way, Ran admired Y/N, who was looking very pretty. With her hair in a low bun and her bright smile, Ran sure knew that Y/N was the one for him.

"Ran, you're staring," Y/N said softly as she waved her hand in front of his face.

Ran blinked as he stuttered, "I--well...."

"Oh you little cutie," Y/N cooed as the two entered the ice cream shop, "two banana ice creams please!"

Ran stared at Y/N in shock. How did she know that his favorite flavor was banana?

He wasn't fast enough; Y/N paid for both of the ice creams as the vendor handed the two big banana ice creams to Y/N.

"Here, Ran," Y/N smiled as she handed one of the cones to him.

"Arigato, Y/N," Ran smiled, "h-how did you know that banana was my favorite flavor?"

"Oh I kind of assumed," Y/N said, "you like eating bananas and I'm sure because you liked me so much, you would like my favorite flavor too."

Ran blushed furiously as he said, "you're right. I really do like you."

"I like you too, Ran," Y/N smiled.

The two walked home happily as they licked their banana ice cream in peace.
