Summary: After the intense fight between Dharkon a month ago, finally over. Byleth gets flashbacks from remembering how she was possessed by him and taking his side. She gets upset remembering it and she goes to Erdrick to talk about it, all he could do was to hold her in his arms.
A/N: Hi so, this mainly takes place when Galeem and Dharkon fight or whatever and Galeem dies. Idk I haven't played world of light in a while, and this is just what I imagine when everyone in the smash mansion saves the world. Anyways enjoy this oneshot!
I missed writing Erdleth content after making the XiaoXin fanfic, so here you go! :)
_________________________________Pain, pain was what Byleth felt when she got possessed by Dharkon.
It was horrible, Byleth didn't want to be on Dharkon's side and destroy the smash universe. She didn't want to, but she had to. To protect her friends, her boyfriend. Anything to protect them.
But after a month of healing and going to see Dr Mario to see if she was alright, Byleth was all better. She was better and that's what made her better, that she was better and nothing else hurted her anymore. But the fact that she got possessed by Dharkon hurted her, broke her even. She didn't want to be on a side with a monster like Dharkon was, Byleth just wanted to go home.. to her hero.
The rush of the memories of the intense and devastating experience that she went through, woke Byleth up in a panic. Sweat was all over her body, breathing in a fast pace. She looked over to her left, seeing that Erdrick wasn't in his bed. This worried Byleth, she quickly got up from her bed and began to run towards the door. It swung open as she ran downstairs, she didn't care if it was 3 in the morning. She just wanted to be with Erdrick, to be in his arms. Byleth needed to be with him.
Byleth finally made it to the lobby, seeing the hero in the kitchen. Drinking some tea, knowing that he couldn't get some sleep. Byleth's eyes filled with tears, her lips quivering. She couldn't take it anymore.
The girl ran up to the hero, wrapping her arms around Erdrick's waist. Taking him by surprise.
"Byleth?" Erdrick spoke, taken aback by Byleth's gesture.
"Erdrick.. I looked everywhere for you! Where were you.. I.. I couldn't find you.." Byleth sniffled, sobbing quitley.
This broke the hero's heart in so many ways, Erdrick didn't like to see Byleth upset. If she was upset then Erdrick would be upset as well, it made him feel so bad for Byleth that she was sad and crying at this time of hour. "What's wrong Byleth? Is everything okay?" Erdrick asked, Byleth pulled away from him so Erdrick could turn around and to face her. Byleth's eyes were red and puffy, tears were streaming across her face. A couple of sniffs were heard from her.
"Oh By.." Erdrick quitley says as he holds her close for a hug, now carrying her in his arms.
"Let's get you back to bed, we'll talk about it there" the hero continues, Byleth nods as she buries her head into Erdrick's chest. Feeling his warmth against her skin. Erdrick left his tea on the table, he didn't care if he didn't finished it. He just wanted to comfort Byleth in the best way he could, the hero made his way to the elevator. Pressing the button as the doors open, walking inside as he pressed the 3rd button. The doors closing and making its way to the 3rd floor.
The doors open as Erdrick quitley walked over towards his dorm, holding his girlfriend in his arms. He saw that the door was open already, but he thought someone would walk in and do something. But he didn't mind because it was only 3:40 in the morning, the hero walked inside as he closed the door quitley behind him. Then he went over to his bed as he placed Byleth on it, which he took off his boots and went inside his bed, sitting up as he saw Byleth looking at him.
