Bai Jian Yu asked his wife as soon as he arrived at his manor. He sat down on the chair in the living room and heaved a tired sigh. Today they recruited new batch of soldiers and those guys were just too weak.

With a stern and wrong expression, Bai Jian Yu stared at his wife.

"What?" Bai Xiu Ying asked in annoyance. This old man what was he thinking again?

"I have something to do," Bai Jian Yu said calmly as he tried to walk out.

"Long Wei ah, how many times have I told you to call me mother and your uncle, father? Or do you think we're not suitable to be your parents?" Bai Xiu Ying said sadly while Bai Jian Yu sneered beside him.

Long Wei hesitantly glanced at the silently furious General Bai and then, at the (pretending) sad Lady Bai, before he said in a respectful tone, "I'm back, father, mother."

Zhan Chen who was casted at the side only watched their interactions in silent. Since when did his mother know how to act ba? And his father, it was obvious the older male still didn't like Xian Long Wei.

"That's it! Come! I'll have the servants to prepare dinner!" Bai Xiu Ying said excitedly as he ushered the two young people together, leaving his husband behind them.

Bai Jian Yu who was left behind, muttered softly with a low spirit, "Lord Wife, did you not want me anymore?"

After dinner, Bai Xiu Ying hinted at Xian Long Wei to send Zhan Chen to his room. Even if Bai Jian Yu tried to interfere, with his Lord Wife was there guarding him, there was no way he could do anything. So, he could only give a warning glare at the younger man to not try to do anything funny.

Walking side by side, the two young males were very quiet. But, even with the silence between them, it didn't feel awkward and instead it was the good kind of silence.

It didn't take them long to reach Zhan Chen's room. Stopping in front of his room, Zhan Chen took a deep breath and looked up at the young Emperor. "Thank you for bringing me out today, Wei Dage."

Xian Long Wei smiled softly and said, "It is me who should thank Chen Chen for willing to go out with me."

Zhan Chen shook his head, remembering about his breakdown before and smiled bitterly, "no, it's me who should thank you. I..." he paused and smiled in gratitude, "Thank you, Wei Dage..."

Xian Long Wei looked down into those eyes filled with gratitude. He was very happy that their outing today bore a little fruit for him. He wanted of course to know what caused the young ger to breakdown but he would wait until Zhan Chen was willing to tell him. Also, even if it was not that big of a change but he could see that somehow, Zhan Chen had softened his heart a bit for him.

"Then, I'll accept your gratitude," Long Wei paused and added after a moment of thinking, "I know that Chen Chen is only thinking of me as a big brother now but I really love you and I hope that I'll be able to change your heart and love me too."
