So close But So far Away

How it began

*3 YEARS AGO*

It was my first day of middle school I'm nervous. My mom keeps telling me it's ok but i'm scared that it won't be ok. I miss elementary school I had friends but now I don't, none of my friends are in the same middle school as me. "Mom i'm scared what if I don't make new friends" My mom chuckled " Kaylee baby everything will be fine". I looked up at my mom "Are you sure?" I said "Kaylee I promise you'll be fine and make new friends. If it makes you feel better me you can go on a girls day without Ariel" My mom said. I began to smile because I Love going on a girls day with my mommy. "Umm" I said hesitantly "Ok mommy" I said while sighing " Ok baby have good 1st day of 6th grade" My mom said while walking me to my 6th grade classroom.

"Ok class my name is Mr.Roberts welcome to your 1st day of 6th grade. Now I know you guys are scared but we'll have a good year" my teacher said with a smile placed on his lips.

"Ok class I'm going to assign seats and since you guys are only in the 6th grade you'll only be in one class for the rest of the year and have al of your teachers come here, you'll start moving classes next year in 7th grade". Mr.Roberts started calling names and assigning seats I realized me and 2 other students names didn't get called which I inevitably knew well end up sitting in the same group.

"Kaylee, Capri and Kevin you guys will be sitting at table 10". As he said that I sat at table 10 and so did the other 2 students. "Now since today is the 1st day and it's a Wednesday we won't do work, we'll warm up to eachother and go through classroom rules" Mr.Roberts said as he was smiling.

"Hi my name is Kevin i'm 12" and as he said that I narrowed my eyes in confusion, and as if he knew that i was confused he said "I started school late so that's why i'm 12 in the 6th grade". When he clarified I nodded my head so he can see i'm no longer confused as I took in his appearance, he was wearing a light blue button down shirt with a tie and beige crisp Khaki pants with shiny dress shoes .

The other girl beside me smiled and said "Hi i'm Capri I'm 11". As she started talking I took in her appearance she had the same light blue button down shirt with beige Khakis and loafers.

As she was done I started talking "Capri is a pretty name it reminds me of Caparison" I said as I laughed as well as Kevin then she shook her head and laughed. Then Capri said "Thank you but please don't call me that" jokingly as she was still laughing, as the laughter died down I began introducing myself 

"Hi i'm kaylee i'm 11" the rest of the time passed and it was time for lunch. As I was on the lunch line Kevin and Capri came to me and asked if i wanted to sit with them at lunch I nodded and we sat with eachother. Suddenly the 1st day wasn't as bad as I thought.

The bell rang which indicated that it was dismissal I walked to the front of the school and met my moms stare, as soon as I did my mom had a cheery look on her face as she smiled, I ran up to her and gave her a hug, "Hi mom" I said "Hi kaykay how was your 1st day" she said "It was good I made new friends" I said with excitement laced in my tone "Really that's so good where are they?" my mom asked, when she said that I looked through the front of the school and my eyes spotted Capri standing with a man I assumed was her dad.

I took my moms hand and went towards the pair, I tapped Capri and as she turned around I said "Hi Caprison this is my mom" motioning to the women by my side as Capri waved and my mom did she same "Hi Kaylee" Capri said "I thought we said you wasn't going to call me that" she said as she pouted and crossed her hands over her chest, I laughed, the her dad said "Hi im Capris dad Steven nice to meet you" he said to my mom and held his hand out "Hi Steven I'm Sabrina Kaylees mom nice to meet you too"

After school my mom took me to get food and get our nails done as she promised a girls day. We of course got food for my family. As we walked in the house I was met with my dad upon seeing him I ran to him and wrapped my arms around him "Hi dad" I said "Hi butterfly, how was your day" he said " It was good I made new friends Kevin and Capri" as I talked to my dad about my 1st day of school it was soon time for bed so I took a shower and I went to sleep ready for the next day.

The Next day me and my sister Ariel got ready for School, Ariel was only one year behind me so she's still in elementary school, I love her and love having spending time with her, despite we it we get into small arguments but we seem to get over it. As I got ready with Ariel She had on A white shirt with a black skirt, and I had on a white shirt with a khaki skirt.

At school I sat with Kevin and Capri, we talked and laughed the whole school day sitting at the same lunch table and this time Kevin was able to meet my mom.

The day came to an end and i soon ended up going to sleep.
