Chapter 24: Bound to Die

"What are you talking-"
Scarlette's hands were tied behind her back by Andrew.

More men came and tied up the others- wait, where's Rachel? Did she escape? Or did she not come at all?

Nathalie always knew Rachel was the smart one but she had never thought Rachel would betray everyone like that!

She wanted to ask where she is but someone did before her.

"There were six of you, where's the other one?" Mr Miller asked
"Why should we tell you?" Vexter sternly said
"If you don't want to die"
Mr Miller grinned evily

"Never! Everyone! Don't say where Rachel is!" Nathalie exclaimed

"Well I have no use for you all, Andrew, kill them" Mr Miller said, lighting a cigarette

"Are- are you sure boss?" Andrew nervously said
"Well if YOU don't want to die, kill them. First kill the girl with the taser"
"Wait no- can't- can't we talk about this?" Scarlette stuttered

Then Nathalie had an idea. It would not surely let them free, but it would save time.

"Let them go! Kill me! It's all my fault!" Nathalie said

Nathalie winked at Vexter. Vexter instantly understood the assignment!

"No! Let them go, I am the one at fault" Vexter suddenly said

"THIS IS NONSENSE!" Mr Miller screamed
"ANDREW! GO ON!"

No no! It didn't save much time! Mr Miller was of no mercy.

"WAIT! Can't we be of any help to you?" Nathalie asked hopelessly
"Hah! What help you kids like you be to me?" Mr Miller chuckled
"You think I don't understand do you? Well I do. I know you are saying nonsense to save time so that the sixth one can return. Well what if she DOESN'T?"

This brought Nathalie back to reality. Humans are indeed selfish creatures. Nathalie isn't doing this for her friends, she's doing this for herself.

"You're quite smart, I'm thinking of saving you. You'd probably be of help to me" Mr Miller said while looking at Nathalie

Nathalie didn't answer and just closed her eyes.

"ANDREW!" Mr Miller screamed

Andrew held a knife against Scarlette's throat. Nathalie closed her eyes shut. Just as Andrew was about to kill her-

BANG!

The door burst open. Rachel came in! Along with...Mr Carter!

"PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!" One of his men screamed

Everyone except the group put their hands up. Mr Carter came closer to Nathalie and Vexter and untied them.

He wiped the blood off on Vexter's forehead and asked,
"Are you guys okay?"
"I'm fine, Vexter just injured his forehead"
"How did you know we're here?" Vexter asked

"Rachel here, made a smart move and didn't follow the rest, instead she came to the police station nearby and I saw her, she explained everything to me and here I am!" Carter answerd cheerfully

Then Rachel came up to us and said,
"Mr Carter was so scared, If anything happened to you guys, I was scared too, don't blame Scarlette, she did make some distractions while I went looking for Mr Carter. Who knows? maybe if it weren't for her distraction, you two would probably be end up dead"

"Now now Rachel, they're already frightened, don't frighten them more"

Scarlette came rushing and Nathalie and Vexter thanked her.
