Zackary's POV

"Damn it!" I cursed as I slammed my clenched fist on the table, watching the footage of that asshole standing in my doorway.

I gritted my teeth in frustration. How could he show up like that when I had already told him to stay the hell out of my life!

Fuck this! I had been so consumed with my own problems that I forgot this kind of shit could happen. I'd become too complacent.

My eyes narrowed as I watched his conversation with Jhune on the monitor. I didn't know what the hell he said to Jhune, but Jhune seemed to act as usual.

But I still couldn't shake the unease. It's impossible for that guy to walk away without doing something-he wouldn't have appear unless he was up to something.

Sneaky bastard. He waited until I let my guard down, and amidst all the chaos in the industry, he still found a way to get to me.

I rubbed my face in frustration. Just when I thought this day couldn't get any worse, I was proven wrong.

Russel rushed into my office, and when I turned to him, I saw how pale he was.

"Zack.." he mumbled.

Seeing the fear on his face sent a cold chill down my spine. I had never seen him this scared before.

I furrowed my brow. "What happened?" I asked, but Russel didn't answer. Instead, he handed me his phone.

I snatched it from his hand and was stunned when I saw the headline of the news.

It can't be.

I felt my chest drop as I saw a wrecked, familiar car that had plunged into a ravine.

"It's J-Jhune..."

No.

That can't be.

My mind went blank. I didn't know what to do. I'd never felt this kind of fear before. It was as if my heart was going to burst from my chest.

Without thinking, I jumped to my feet and rushed out of the office. I didn't even bother to grab my coat as I stormed out of the building.

People stared at me as I passed, but I couldn't care less. I was in a hurry.

"Find out which hospital they took Jhune to," I ordered.

"On it," Russel replied, following closely behind.

We reached the parking lot, and I quickly jumped into the driver's seat. Russel got in beside me, and I slammed my foot on the gas, speeding off without hesitation.

Once Russel confirmed the hospital, I drove even faster. I swerved past cars, ignoring the speed limit-I didn't care.

I couldn't feel anything. The danger didn't matter. All I could think about was Jhune. I was terrified for him.

A few minutes later, we arrived at the hospital. I didn't waste any time, rushing into the ER to find him. When I reached the end of the hallway, there he was.

The world seemed to collapse around me when I saw his condition. He was lying unconscious on the bed, blood soaking his clothes. Hospital staff were working frantically around him.

I felt the blood drain from my face, paralyzed, unable to take another step. My body trembled in fear.

Fuck it, Zack! Move!

I rushed to his side.

"Jhune..." I called his name softly, holding his cold hand. It was terrifying how lifeless and cold he had become.
