||Chapter 25: Making A Choice||

"Got Basketball at the end of the day, so."
Miguel nods,"I'll pick you up after school.", Miguel went upstairs to grab something for work.
Enzo then noticed Maritza, glaring at him,"Maritza, you know I didn't mean it-", Maritza pointed her butter knife at him,"Last I checked those glasses don't have any pink tinted lenses.", she put the knife down, ate her toast and just made the decision she was walking to school alone.

Trinity got off the bus and was met with a fuming Maritza.
"What happened? Enzo?"
"Yes! And his stupid friends Seth and Ruben!"
Trinity sighed,"Let me guess; They were making fun of you and he joined in.", "Yes! That mother-", Maritza stamped her foot hard, Trinity gently guided her to the Club Room so she could have a few minutes to calm down before she did actually murder someone.
Specifically; Enzo.

"So what do you think."
Seth shook his head,"Nope; Can't go after him, since he saved the Mayor's Son he's bound to have some invincibility now.", Ruben sighed, rolling his eyes as he shot the ball through the hoop.
"But. . . I have a better idea."

Delory groaned, his head like hell; Why did his dad have to do this?
He's gonna hate the Jazz Genre of Music because of his old man-
He mind was caught up by a thud, and just before he was about to yell 'shut the f up', because of his headache, he paused.
Seth and Ruben stood before Ivan, his glasses smashed, head bleeding from being thrown against the locker and obviously they weren't giving him a chance to stand up.
"Can't believe how much of a wimp you! Shocks me that Enzo is friends with much losers."
"What should we do to him? Stuff him in the locker??"
Delory felt some pain as Ivan began to sob, Seth kicking him in the gut to get him to stop only Ivan curled into himself.
Delory watched the scene, his headache being long forgotten. . . Looking around the hall, he saw one of the baseball players, and their bat against the water fountain.

Ivan just heard two loud yells of pain, scared to look up he remained curled up.
"Please. . . Don't hurt me. . ."

Seth and Ruben were shocked, standing and defending Ivan with a bat; Delory!
He glared daggers at them,"You don't hurt him; You hurt him, you gonna have to get through me and my bat.", Seth glared, wiping his bloody nose,"I don't give a rat's ass if you're the Mayor's son or, I'll break every bone your body for getting in my-"
"Ehm."
Suddenly the hall was more quiet, like you could hear the breeze of the AC.
Behind Seth and Ruben; Was Headmaster Wilson.
And oh boy, did he not look happy.
Ignoring that, Delory knelt down and rubbed Ivan's back to try and comfort him.
"Uhm. . . Headmaster we can. . . We were just messing around and. . ."
"I saw and heard everything I needed to hear."
Wilson glared at Seth and Ruben,"My office; Now.", as if faced with Death themselves, Seth and Ruben scramble off.
Wilson turned to Delory and Ivan, Delory had dropped the bat and trying to help Ivan.
Wilson picked it up,"Now.", Delory looked up,"I don't condone this, especially with my history of kids owning bats; However, I'll let this slide as you defended another student; Acted in self defence.", Delory nods,"Thank you, Sir. . .", Wilson nods,"Very brave of you, Delory; You take Ivan to the Nurse.", Delory nods, and doing his best to talk to Ivan as gently and calmly as possible, Ivan got to his feet and with a rag Wilson game him, he held it on Ivan's head injury and lead him away.

"Enter!"
Delory entered the class, hand had blood on it as well his shirt.
"What happened?"
"Uh. . . I was told to get Trinity; Ivan. . . Ivan's in the Nurses Office."
Trinity practically jumped off her chair, rushing out as Delory followed.
"What happened?!"
"Seth and Ruben; That good enough?"
"Perfect answer; I'll Kill them."

The Nurse inspected the head,"I know it hurts dear, I know. . .", Ivan couldn't do much, his head was screaming so much that it felt like he was drowning in screams, he could barely hear The Nurse.
Trinity knocked, came in with Delory,"Is he okay. . .?", The Nurse let Delory change and wash his hands.
"He'll be okay, he just needs to be sent home and get plenty of rest."
Seemed like the painkillers set in as Ivan was now asleep, it was so sad to see him with a bandage around his head, face stained of tears and in pain.
She pet his head,"Is his mom coming to pick him up. . .?","Yes, Dear. . . Do you want to get him?", Trinity nods, she turned to Delory,"Thank you.", Delory nods, it did. . . Feel good to help someone.

Trinity ran into the room and unlocked the closet.
"What's going on?"
"Ivan; Seth and Ruben beat him, Delory saved him and now he's in the Nurse's Office.",
The room fell silent.
. . .
Maritza ran after Trinity, Mya too as Enzo was left alone.
So many thoughts ran through his head.

The confrontation.
They admitted it.
"It's your fault! I told you, you needed to stop being friends with those weaklings and weirdos and now, we're possibly being kicked off the team."
Enzo remembered Trinity's face when she ran into the room, he remembered Maritza's glare from this morning, he remembered Nicky's unsure expression when he introduced him to them.

"You know what."
Enzo glared at them,"I don't need this! Or you two! It was so selfish and stupid of me that it took this long to see you two were nothing but trouble, you care more about your spot on the team rather than a life that you hurt; Count me out of the team!", with that, Enzo ended his friendship with them.
"AND WHAT MAKES YOU BETTER, ENZO?!?! DON'T FORGET IT WAS YOU THAT SPREAD THOSE RUMORS ABOUT AARON AND HIS FAMILY!!!"
"YOU THINK YOU DESERVE TO BE HAPPY, HUH!??! OR BE THEIR FRIEND?!?"

As their shouts began less audible. . . Enzo stood in the hall.
And he cried.
