"Okay."
Mr Peterson brought down another box, filled with things,"You kids can look through it and see of you want something to keep.", Aaron and Mya jumped to that, they were always curious about their Dad's childhood and he didn't talk about it much.
Mr Peterson glanced at the paper, nothing worth reading though he might check out this week's crosswords or puzzles.
"Hey, Dad? What happened to the bear?"
"Bear? What bear- Oh."
Mya held a brown teddy, Aaron and Mya noticed the bear was made from different parts of other bears, like one half was dark drown, another a light brown, one ear was white and they could see it was stitched together like a frankenstein.
"Ooh. Definite keep; It's my old teddy bear from when I was 9-10, but there is a valid reasons why he looks a little. . . Messed up.", he came back into the room, taking the bear from Mya and looking at it after all these years.
"Now, I don't want to get into the details, but the bear got destroyed. . . Kids can be too rough sometimes with their toys and, it lead to the bear being ripped and some pieces going missing."
"Oh no. . ."
"What did you do?"
"I, didn't tell anyone at first, because I didn't want to bother them over a bear so I hid the remains in my old room, but it was obvious something happened cause I had stopped carrying it everywhere I went."
"So dead giveaway."
"Indeed."
Mr Peterson then sat on the floor, Mya and Aaron following suit.
"So, eventually your grandparents found out and found it in my room, they got what happened out of me but, there wasn't much they could do since the bear was practically a goner."
Mr Peterson held it up.
"Or so I thought."
"Did someone fix it?"
"Yes: I was called down by my father one morning, and in the living room he represented me my bear, he had used old toy parts of teddies to put it back together and learned to stitch, to fix it; He had a lot of plasters on his hands and fingers, your grandma told me swore each time he hit himself with the needle."
Mya and Aaron giggled at that, Mr Peterson stood up, putting the bear on the shelf,"So, while it may not be the most good looking or cutest bear; It means more to me, cause my father learned to sew to make me happy.", Aaron and Mya nods,"And for his first stitch, it's not too bad.", "Yeah; Definite keep, you're right dad!", he smiled.

"Hmm. . ."
Norman finished another book of crosswords: He should find something more challenging late.
"Hey Norman?"
"What's up, Ike?"
Norman looked up,"Oh you found it.", Ike tossed it up and caught it again,"Yeah, guess he thought they would come crawling back.", Miguel looked up,"Quentin's Old Plate name?", Ike nods,"Yeah, he used to work for the Banner before going solo with my sister; I didn't blame him, but he and my sister do have some not so good methods like breaking and entering.", Miguel nods,"What is their deal with, Otto?", "I have no clue, Morning Jay!", Jay waved as he sat down,"Nicky's excited; New Alien Movie is out.", to that, Miguel froze and slowly put his face in his hands.
Jay chuckled.
=
"Have you seen Aliens?"
Aaron turned to him,"Oh, I've seen a few; I heard there's a new one out.", Nicky nods, smiling and had a little jump in his step from his excitement.
"Do you wanna go see it?"
"Yeah, Dad is going to see it with Miguel and I wanted to know if you and Mya were interested."
. . .
"Yeah, sounds good."
