||Chapter 54: A Coin||

As Nicky packed away Science Equipment, Finch stood by the cabinet as he did holding the Bunsen Burner.
"So. . . Your Mom's a Scientist?"
"Yep."
"Does she. . . Have her own lab??"
"Mhm, at home she has her office/lab and much like any lab rules, not allowed in there without her or unless it's very important.", Finch's interest was peaked, she handed Nicky the Bunsen Burner and they return to their seats.

Finch was interested.
Very interesting, considering the last scientists and she feels like she could find more from Nicky than Mr Peterson obviously.

"Wait what-"
Nicky nods,"Yeah, I mean it's not too surprising seeing as people have asked me before.", Aaron internally faceplammed, he know too well what Finch was interested in and why.
So while Mya asked Nicky about his Mom's Office/Lab, Aaron decided to have a chat with Finch.

"Trinity?"
Trinity had her hands on her hips,"You too?", "Yeah.", Trinity turned to Finch,"Look; It's okay to be curious, but you can't just ask him questions about his mom being a scientist.", Finch groaned,"But you guys aren't curious? Your dad's dad was a scientist?", Aaron nods,"Yeah, but considering what happened a few years back and also thinking of what my dad had to deal with from the Banner and people stealing work; I'm just saying, don't push it.", Finch folded her arms,"He doesn't know?", Trinity shook her head,"No.", "Just. . . Can you at least be respectful and, not do something to get on his Mom's bad side? I've met her and I ain't ready to find out what happens when she's mad.", Finch nods, they had points.
"Okay. . . I'll. . . I'll back off."

Nicky was looking around the lobby of The Event; It was so cool, looking at all the amazing discoveries and inventions that were made.
"Amazing isn't it?"
Nicky jumped, Mr Murtaugh looking at the exhibit,"Mr Murtaugh, you came too?", "Of course; I love attending these events.", Nicky nods, he loved looking at everything that was discovered or built.
"Ah, Nicky there you are. Oh, you must he his Science Teacher."
Mr Murtaugh smiled, shaking Mr Roth's hand,"Yes; Your son is a wonderful boy to teach, his Science knowledge is outstanding.", Jay smiled,"He gets it from his mother.", as they talked, Nicky found himself looking Robert and Adelle Peterson, Mr Peterson's parents.
In a picture, Nicky was stunned cause Robert was really tall and in the picture, he could assume it was taken here?
"Nicky, let's go find your mother."
"Okay! Bye, Mr Murtaugh!"
Mr Murtaugh waved goodbye.

Camila approached him from behind, as he turned he jumped,"Jesus! You scared me!", Camila nods,"I apologise. You finally enjoying teaching children more?", Mr Murtaugh nods,"Little bit. . .", Mr Murtaugh said nothing more and left to look at something, Camila was signaled to hand out some books for a well known scientist.

"Nice you got to look around more."
Nicky nods,"I liked the picture that was at Robert and Adelle Peterson's Section.", Mr Peterson nods, smiling,"Yes; It was taken in the hall, in celebration of their invention.", Ike peaked in,"See the man with the sunglasses?", Aaron nods as does Nicky,"Yeah, did you know him?", Ike nods, smiling,"Yep; That was my dad, he was Robert's Business Partner and friend outside of work.", Mya leaned against the counter, having her doll in her hand,"Why is he wearing sunglasses? You've shown us pictures of him but he's always wearing sunglasses.", Ike pointed to his eyes, drinking some coffee,"I don't remember what it was, there was a work accident that damaged his eyes so he couldn't handle bright lights or the sun, so he'd always wear them as the lights would damage his eyes more or irritate his eyes.", Theodore nods,"So, it was rare to see him without sunglasses.", Ike nods,"But he pulled it off and looks cool.", Aaron nods,"Yeah, he looks like a secret agent!", Ike nods,"Hell yeah.", Theodore looked out the window, Diana coming back from shopping and with some new plants.

Luanne finished work for the night, standing up and putting her work away.
"Mom?"
She glanced behind her,"Dear, you alright?", "Uhm, can I have some melatonin?", Luanne nods,"Of course, can't fall asleep?", Nicky shook his head,"Head full of thoughts.", Luanne nods, understanding that all too well and still making a mental note to get him an ADHD/ADD and Autism Diagnosis.

Trinity sat up.
She didn't know what woke her, but she had a bad feeling.
Her windows were open, the breeze getting and making the room colder but. . . She was sure she closed them.
She always closes her windows at night.
She threw the blanket off, getting up and closing them.
Getting back in bed, putting the blanket around her. . . Only, she noticed a piece of paper folded.
She frowned, not remembering if Dad or mom had left her a note she forgot to read, but no. . . No she would have noticed.
She opened up.

'It's A Time To Play A Game, For This Halloween Shall Be Remembered; Lose A Coin, Lose Your Life.'

The note had a coin taped to it, she picked it off and a closer look. . . It was a token!
She remembered these were meant to be won in The Theme Park for prizes.
But how. . .
She looked around her room, her eyes froze on the figure in the hallway.
And it certainly it wasn't her dad or mom.
She jumped out of bed, the figure running as she tried to follow but reaching outside. . . No one.
No one in the street, up or down. . . Was she dreaming? Imagining it??
. . .
She went back inside, the coin in her fist.

Nicky was tucked into bed, his teddy and cat curled by with him.
Luanne kissed his forehead,"Goodnight, dear.", Luanne closed the door after her and headed off to bed herself.
