Chapter 40: Easton

It's early and I'm laying in bed feeding Bently. Chandler is playing with Mav, trying to teach him how to sit up.
"You almost had it!" He says. Mav giggles.
"Guess what." I said
"What?"
"Bently and Mav are 6 months old today!" I said
"Your half way there!" Chandler started singing.
"And it's almost mommy's birthday!" Chandler said tickling Mav.
"2 weeks." I said. Blair opened the door.
"I missed the bus can one if you take me?" She asked.
"Of course." Chandler got up and put on a shirt and shoes and put Mav in his jumper. I was left alone with the kids. I took the kids into the family room and let them play on the ground with their toys and keeping an eye on them while I made breakfast for Mav since Bently already ate. I made Mav warm cereal that you buy from Gerber. I put him in his high chair as well as Bently. They were still newly introduced to solid food. I gave Bently the little melting yogurt bites. They were making funny noises.
"Ahhhh mmmmm." Bently screamed.
"Is that right?" I asked
"Ahhhh!" Mav yelled.
"No way!" I said laughing. Chandler opened the door.
"Im back." He said. My attention still on the babies.
"Did she really miss the bus?" I asked.
"No. She doesn't like riding it." He said pulling up a chair.
"Is it that hard?" I asked
"I can understand not even wanting to go to school wen your pregnant, but sometimes you have to power through." Chandler said.
"Yeah. Don't you need to get ready?" I asked.
"Yes but I don't want to go back to work."
"You took more time off than you should." I said
"I worked from home." He said.
"A doctor doesn't work from home. You can't save lives at home. Go to work." I laughed.
"Fine." He said. He got up and went to change.
"Are you going to go back to work?" He asked
"What if we were foster parents?" I asked
"B, that's a lot of work. We can barely afford a family of 5."
"I mean 4 + Blair." He said.
"Aww you think we're a family?" I asked
"She's lived here 6 months. It's like we had triplets." I laughed.
"Go to work." I said. He walked out of the room. He kissed me.
"Bye." He said then kissed the babies.
"Love you guys!" He said as he closed the door.
"Now what are we going to do today?" I asked the twins.
"Bo Bo!" Bently said. Is that a word? I ran out the door get Chandler. We was just about to pull out.
"What?" He asked
"Bently just said her first word!" I yelled.
"What was it?"
"Bo Bo." I laughed.
"Does that count?"
"I don't know." I said.
"I got to go. Love you."
"Love you too." And he drove off. I walked back inside and Mav was making Bently cry.
"Maverick!"
"Ehhh!" Bently cryed. I gave her a pacifier and we finished breakfast. Tonya called.
"Hey!" She said
"Hey, what's up?"
"Do you and the munchkins want to go to the park with me? I'll have the dogs."
"That sounds fun."
"How's 10:30?"
"Perfect. Where?"
"The park by the library."
"Is that the new one?"
"Yes."
"Great, see you there." I hung up the phone and got the twins dressed. Bently looked so cute in her fluffy bloomers and flower shirt. Mav wore a anchor onesie and blue shorts. I put the kids in the car and the stroller. I also brought Emmi. In the way there Bently started crying and it made Mav cry so I was driving with a dog in the passenger seat with 2 screaming kids while I'm looking for pacifiers in the diaper bag. I accidentally ran a red light . I saw the bright blue and red lights in my rear view mirror. My heart was pounding, I had never been pulled over before in my life. I pulled over and the officer came to my window.
"License and registration please." He said. I dug through the diaper bag and got out my licens and got the registration from the glove box. I handed him them. Then I gave Bently and Mav their pacifiers.
"Thank you. Are you aware of the red light you ran?" He asked
"Yes, I was looking for pacifiers." I said.
"I understand. I'm a new daddy too. This won't happen again?" He asked
"Absolutely not."
"Have a nice day." And he walked off.

I drove to the park where I saw Tonya getting out of her car with her 2 yorkies, Gizmo, and Zoro. I opened the stroller and got the kids out of the car into the stroller. We walked along a path while we talked.
"Sorry I was late." Tonya said
"Oh no problem." I said.
"I actually got pulled over."
"What did you do?" She said laughing.
"Ran a red light."
"How much was the ticket?"
"Free." I said
"You got away with it?" She asked
"Yeah."
"Haha. So are you thinking of adopting Blair?" She asked
"I don't know. But the cutest thing happened: Chandler was mad I said we should foster parent. He said that he can barely take care of a family of 5."
"Aw that's too cute."
"I know!"
"How are you setting in to the house?" She asked
"Still some boxes to unload, but I really love it."
"That's so good to hear. Is it your dream house?"
"For now it is. But ultimately I want to have land and horse."
"That sounds like you."
"I haven't event thought about adopting Blair, it always felt like she was part of the family."
"I hope you consider it. She a sweet young girl. Easton will be the cutest little boy."
"I can't wait to see him!" I said. We talked and talked we got lunch and we drove home. The twins had fallen asleep on the way home. I put them in their cribs and wen the kids sleep mommy sleeps. That's the only way. The twins and I slept til 4. Chandler comes home at that time. Chandler sat at the foot of the bed in his cute white coat.
"I'm home." He said.
"sorry I fell asleep." I said
"Where's Blair?" He asked.
"Oh crap!" I said getting up
"Did you forget to pick her up?" He asked.
"Yeah." I put my shoes on.
"Don't worry I picked her up from a friends house after work."
"Friends house?" I said
"Yeah, she text me and asked."
"Oh."
"Are Bently and Mav still sleeping?" He asked.
"Yup but took them to the park today."
"That sounds fun." He kissed me.
"We have the missionaries over for dinner." I said.
"Are you cooking?" He asked
"I was thinking pizza."
"Ok I'll go pick it up."
"Will you get the missionaries too?" I asked
"Sure." He came back 15 minutes later. Blair was changing Mavericks diaper while I cleaned up the house. I set the table and got out cups. Blair came out and put Mav in the floor next to Bently.
"Hello, sister Riggs." Elder Garlic and elder Blake shook my hand.
"Hello. How are you guys?" I asked.
"Good, how are you."
"Tired." I said.
"Hey,Blair." Elder garlic did a crazy hand shake with Blair. Chandler set the pizza down and we blessed the food and ate dinner. After dinner the missionaries had a question for Blair. That had already asked our permission first, we accepted. We all sat on the couch.
"Blair, you have learned to love the church and its ways. You're living the gospel, and setting standards. Elder Blake and I would like to ask you to baptism." Elder garlic said.
"I'd love to!" She stood up and hugged the elders.
"We're so happy for you." Chandler said. The elders talked to her for a bit and then Chandler took them home. Blair and I gave the twins a bath and put them to bed. Blair went a took and shower and Chandler and j were laying in bed watching tv.
"Did you ever think that we could adopt Blair?" Chandler asked
"Tonya asked me today that same question."
"what did you say?" Chandler said.
"I said I already felt like she was."
"Do you want to make it legal?" He asked
"Honestly, I know it's going to be hard, but I think we can do it." I said. Chandler turned of the TV.
"Blair, can you come in here a minute?" Chandler called.
"One sec." She said. A minute later she walked in.
"Yeah?" She sat down.
"Chandler and I have talked about it and if your ok with it we want to adopt you." I said. She stood up and hugged us.
"Yes." She whispered. We hugged for what felt like ages.

We went to bed and at 3 am Blair woke up with severe abdominal pain. Chandler and I put the kids in the car and drive to the hospital. The doctor did an ultra sound.
"Blair, honey, you've lost your baby." The told her. She started crying and I hugged her. We went home and went we walked through the the door she said she was going to go to bed.
"Goodnight." She said as all 5 of us hugged.
"No matter what we're are here for you." I said.
"Easton's gone." She balled.
