Chapter 42: families are forever

   Today is busy. It's February 14th few days after the twins birthday. Today Blair becomes our daughter and we are going to the temple to have her sealed to our family for eternity. It's also to day that my aunt passed away so we will be setting off lanterns for her. And the twins birthday party is today. I'm going to be worn out and the end of today. Chandler's not going to work today and Blair isn't going to school. Blair is still recovering from her miscarriage but she's holding up. Chandler became a ER doctor and he loves his job, I however think it's crazy to work in trauma, but he's saving lives and that's what counts. Blair takes after me and works at Costco. She wants to be a fire fighter. I'm so happy she has a career path. She's getting too old.

We woke us a little early to get ready to go down to the court house. Today is the day. I can't believe it.
"Blair, let's get going." I said as I walked in to her room.
"Breakfast on the table." I say leaving. I get the twins ready and feed them breakfast. Bently like to play with her food rather than eat it, and Mav likes to wear his food. They're so cute, I can't be mad. Chandler walks in and kisses the twin on their foreheads. He's so tired he doesn't realize he has baby food on his lips from maverick.
"Honey, wipe your mouth." I say handing him a towel. He wipes it and looks at it.
"Maverick, the food goes in your mouth." He says.
"Just like daddy." I laugh.
"Just like daddy." He says. Mav giggles. Chandler sits down and takes my place while I get ready. Them I eat breakfast and Chandler cleans up the mess while I give maverick a bath. Sometimes he just needs baby wipes, sometimes it's a new outfit, but this morning needed a bath. After the bath I walk out of the room and see Chandler asleep on the couch holding Bently. I smell a dirty diaper, a bad one.
"Chandler, is Bently poopy?" I ask him. He picks her up and his white t shirt is brown. I just about lost it. I started laughing so hard.
"This isn't funny!" He says laughing.
"Good girl Bently." I say
"Go give her a bath." Chandler says.
"I gave Mav one, your turn." I say.
"It was bound to happen sometime." I say.
"Slow clap for Bently." Blair says sitting at the counter eating breakfast. Chandler takes Bently for a bath. Blair and I are ready, just waiting for Chandler. We can hear Chandler gagging. Blair and I couldn't keep it together. After that was cleaned up we got in the car and drove to the court house. The whole way there Blair and I pretend he stink by putting our heads out the window.
"you guys are so mean." Chandler says. I put my head back in.
"you have to admit that was funny." I say.
"Fine, it was hilarious." He laughed. I leaned over and kissed him.
"Blair, you ready?" Chandler asked.
"I can't wait." We arrive and walk in.

2 hours later we walk out with a new family member. After that we go to the temple for us to be sealed together. Today has been so amazing. After the sealing we get back in the car and drive home.
"Can I call you mom and dad now?" Blair asks.
"You could have called us that before." I say. We get out and walk in the house. I put the twins down for their nap. After we change out of our nice clothes we play games and watch movies, just bonding with Blair, one on one. It was a very nice couple of hours we had with her with out the screaming munchkins. The twins slept longer than normal and so we just talked. Blair told us her background. She had lived in 10 other foster homes. Born in Idaho. She had never met her mom or dad. Her mom have her up very early. Milo told me her dad passed away in a car accident, and he mom was in prison for robbery. She's has a rough start to life, but we love her the same as we did before we knew anything. After the time we spent together Chandler and I tried not to make up to twins as we put them in the car. It was 6:00 and we headed over to Tonya's for the twins birthday party/ blairs welcom to the family. We succeeded in getting the twins in the car with out waking them up. We high fived.
"Yes!" Chandler said in a high whisper.
"Since they slept so long doesn't that mean that they will stay up longer." Blair said.
"not if we wear them out." I say.
"Blair we are going to treat you like your one too! We got you a little cake for you to eat with the twins. We will see who finishes the cake first." Chandler said. Blair laughed.
"Mav will just rub it all over his head." She said.

Wen we got to Tonya's we went around back and everyone cheered.
"Happy birthday Mav and Bently!"
"Welcome to the family Blair!"
"Let's party!" We laughed and Chandler took the twins inside to let them sleep.
"How will we know if one wakes up?" I asked him.
"I used your phone as a camera and I can see it on my phone. I'll just check it." He said
"Aren't you tecnecle." I say. We played horse shoes and corn toss.
"Carl, didn't Nate make those way back wen we were kids?" I asked. (Nate was Carl and claytons brother. I was referring to the corn toss)
"Yeah, we've had these for years." He said.
"wow, I remember so much as kids with you guys."
"It's too bad you lived in Texas for so long. You guys could have had lots of memories." Tonya said.
"We have plenty." Clayton said.
"Good." Tonya said.
"Chandler, help me with the Bon fire." Jeff said. Chandler gave me his phone and went to help. The camera said that Bently was awake.
"Lindsay, you want to go get Bently?" I asked.
"Yes!" She lives Bently so much, it's adorable. She came back with Mav and Bently.
"They were both awake." She said.
"Ok." I say taking maverick. Tonya took maverick.
"How about some cake?" Rachel asks. Lindsay and Tonya put the twins in the high chairs with a mini cake on them. Blair came and stood next to me, she had been talking to Q. Q is claytons best friend from high school. Blair's best friend is Q. She says that girls have a BFF, and he's her guy best friend, so they don't date just hang out. I put candles in the normal cake. Chandler lit the candles and for some reason we sang happy birthday to Blair. It's not her birthday but we didn't know what else to sing. She blew out the candles and hugged me. She had tears coming down her cheeks.
"I'm so happy to have your family in my life." She said. Now tears were coming down my face.
"We love you so much." I say. She nods and hugs Chandler. Then everyone else. Greyson, Alan, and Trevor come back in 4 months! Aiden left for his mission last week. We all watched the twins eat their cake. Sure enough maverick puts the cake all over his head, it gets in his hair and ears. Bently plays with it like play dough. Everyone got a kick out of it. After cake we all sat around the bonfire. Everyone said something to Blair. Telling her they are so happy she's in our family and telling her if she needs anything she can ask anyone of us. She started crying again and we are got us and gave her hugs. After the bonfire went out it was around 9:30pm. We all got in out cars and drive to the cemetery where Shelly was barried. We set off lanterns. It was so beautiful. Bently was amazed by it. I could see lane crying. I walked over and gave him a hug.
"We miss her with all our heart." I say.
"It's been hard but I could never love someone as much as I loved her." Lane said.
"You too are the cutest high school sweetheart I've ever met. You will always be her husband."
"Thank you." He said.
"Your very welcome. You call me if you need anything. We're going to head home." I say.
"Have a good night." He said as I walked away. Lane is a goofy person, but he has the biggest heart. Today was amazing. I'm so glad Blair is part of our family.
