Alice finishes her shower and quickly gets dressed, wanting to know what happened with Megan. Once she was fully clothed she rushed to the living room to see Megan crying in her mother's arms, "Megan... what's wrong?"
Alice goes over to Megan and holds her tightly along with her mother, "Megan..." Grace gently wipes Megan's tears, "Megan, sweetie. I'm going to set up the spare bedroom for you. You're too upset and from the looks of it, you don't want to go home."
She gets up from the couch and heads to the spare bedroom to set it up, Alice sits next to Megan and rubs her shoulders, "Megan what happened?"
"I stormed out of the house, I am so angry with my Dad..."
"What did your Dad do?"
"I said some messed up stuff about Leon, then... he slapped me."
Alice's eyes widened, "He slapped you?"
"Yeah..."
"God Megan..."
"I don't blame him... after saying that I didn't want to be second best to an orphan was pretty fucked up..."
"I can't lie to you Megan... that was messed up, but I didn't expect him to hit you..."
"Well... he did."
"How did this even happen?"
"So the letter for the LETI Academy came... I got accepted but..."
"But?"
"Dad came home claiming about some amazing announcement he had, he got Leon to be accepted in the academy with no issue. It just isn't fair Alice, I worked my butt off to get accepted and here my Dad is... celebrating Leon's success without even establishing mine..."
Megan tries to wipe her tears away but failed, Alice quickly holds her tightly and comforts her, "I'm so sorry Megan, that sucks. You didn't deserve that."
"I don't want to go home, Alice... I don't even want to see them again. I want out..."
Alice quietly sighs, not wanting to see her friend this upset she had to do something. She pulls away, "I'll be right back," and quickly rushes over to her mother who is setting up the spare room, "Mom... is it possible that Megan stays here..."
"Stay?"
"Yes... I don't think she wants to go back home after what happened and I don't want her to be homeless. Please Mom, at least let her stay until she leaves for the police Academy..."
Grace let out a soft sigh, "I do hate seeing that poor girl cry, alright then. She can stay here as long as long as she needs. I doubt this argument she went through will settle down, especially considering who her father is."
"Thanks, Mom, you're the best..." Alice then rushed over to Megan, "Megan, Megan." Megan lifted her head, and Alice held her hands, "I asked my mom if you could stay here and she said yes."
"Stay here...? I don't want to be a burden and overstay my welcome."
"Nonsense, you can stay here until you leave for your academy. My mom doesn't want you to struggle with finding a place to stay so she insists."
"I don't know... are you sure your Mom is okay with me staying here?"
"Don't believe me? Watch." Alice grabs Megan's hand and drags her to the spare bedroom, "Mom, Megan can stay here till she goes to LETI Academy right?"
"Yes, I told you, Alice. She can stay until she's ready to leave," Grace turns over to see Alice and Megan. She gave Megan a gentle smile and gave her a reassuring hug, "Don't worry sweetheart, I know you're going through a lot right now, but Alice and I are here for you."
