The cafeteria was serving the usual breakfast meal, eggs, bacon, biscuits, etc. Megan got herself an omelet as Leon went for sunny-side-up eggs with a side of biscuits and jam. He gestured her for them to sit outside by a bench near some shade.

As they ate their breakfast Leon looked up at her and asked, "Why do you want to jog at three in the morning?"

"It's a good exercise, clears your mind, builds strong bones, and such. Why?"

"Just wanted to know, I never thought you'd be the type to do so."

"Well Leon, I like to challenge myself. Don't tell me you don't?"

"Eh... not as much as you. But at times."

"Yeah, but it's fine. It's just what I like doing."

Leon cleans his mouth with a napkin, "So, you excited for class today?"

She nods, "Sure am, I've already prepared myself for the possibilities they will teach us."

"Well someone is a busy bee."

"Not my fault I like to prepare myself, unlike a certain someone I know," she teased.

He let out a small laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck, "Well you got me there, I sometimes end up sleeping in and you would have to wake me up."

"I remember, you missed the bus like... one or twice?"

"It was once, actually..." he sighed, "But that's in the past. Now that we are grown adults, things will be different. And believe me when I say, I want to make things right between us."

Megan nods, "Yeah..." she looks over at her watch, "Time to get to class."

Leon raised a brow and looked at his watch, "We only have 15 minutes left."

"Still, I want to get there early," she got up and went to put her tray away, "You coming?"

Leon shrugs and gets up, "Why not, won't hurt anyone."

The two then head over to the building where their class is, and a few other students walk by heading to class. They entered to see a couple of students already sitting at the seats they wanted to sit at or chatting with their new classmates.

Before Megan could decide where to sit Leon tapped her shoulder, "How about over there?" He gently takes her by the arm and heads over to a seat near the window, "This seems like a good spot."

Leon sat down on his new seat and looked over at Megan sitting down next to him. He smiled, "Man, I'm so excited for this. We are assigned together in class, we're roommates, and now we will experience this journey together. If Dad could see us, I bet he would be very proud."

Megan nodded, her lips slightly frowning a bit at the mention of her father, "Yeah, I bet he would..."

Leon took notice of her tone and felt a bit concerned, however, as he was about to ask what was wrong the professor walked in and started to speak, "Good morning class, Today we'll be going over the basics of learning state ordinances, local laws, and constitutional law, Everyone turns to page 63..."

Once the class started Megan and Leon paid attention to the professor as the lesson went on. For the past few days, their competition of who is better than the other had started railing up after they noticed that their grades were the same.

As the class progresses both Megan and Leon answer every question the professor asks, always having the correct answer in hand. The only difference is that Leon always manages to answer the questions slightly slower than Megan does, giving her to show him a smirk of victory planted on her lips.
