Morning arrived and Megan was waking up by the smell of eggs made by Alice's mother. She gets out of bed and heads to the kitchen as she rubs the sleepiness out of her eyes, "Morning..."
"Oh, good morning Megan. Did you sleep well?"
"Sure did," Megan sat down at the table and spotted Alice coming out from the bathroom, "Morning Mom, morning Megan."
"Morning sweetie," Grace serves them their breakfast, Megan starts to eat, "So we're getting my stuff today huh."
Alice nods, "Yeah, you don't have to come with me if it makes you uncomfortable."
"No I want to go, I just..." she sighed, not being able to finish her sentence.
"If you want, you can wait in the car while I get your things. And when you're ready you can get out of the car to talk with your Dad or Leon."
"That'd be nice."
After the two finished breakfast, they got dressed and Megan grabbed her car keys. The two head to the car and drive off to Megan's house, it was a quiet car ride there, and Alice could sense that Megan felt uneasy about this whole thing.
Once they arrived at their destination, Megan pulled her car to the driveway to see that her father's car was gone. Alice points it out, "Seems like your Dad is probably at work."
"Yeah, but someone is still home," Megan groans, pointing at Leon's jeep, "The one time I don't think I can face him, he just had to be home..."
"You don't have to face him, you can stay in the car okay? I'll go get your stuff."
Alice got out of Megan's car and headed over to the house, knocking on the door and waiting for Leon to open the door.
A few minutes earlier before Megan and Alice arrived at the house, Leon woke up to use the bathroom. After the bathroom he goes to the kitchen to eat some breakfast, he looks over at the garbage can to see many cans of empty beer.
His drinking is getting worse, I kept trying to reason with him but he just shrugs it off. Has this been a reoccurring issue before? I wished I could talk to Megan about this... she'd know what to do...
Leon grabs a box of cereal and a carton of milk.
I wonder when is Megan going to pick up her stuff... is she having second thoughts about leaving? Will she even want to come back?
Suddenly he heard the door knocking, "Megan?..." he quickly rushed over to the door, "Megan!" He opens the door expecting Megan but is surprised to see Alice, "Alice?... what are...?"
He turns to look over at Megan's car, spotting her figure in the driver's seat. Alice clears her throat, "I'm just here to grab Megan's stuff."
"O-Oh... right, well the boxes are in my room. I'll help you put them in the car."
Leon moves aside to let Alice inside, showing her his room and all the boxes he packed. Alice grabs one of the boxes, "So you packed up her stuff huh, was this your Dad's doing?"
"Yeah..." Leon sighed, "Dad was originally gonna throw them all away, but I wasn't going to let him. So I told him that I'd pack her stuff up and let her take them... if you or Megan weren't going to get the stuff then... he would have thrown them away."
