As part of our school's centennial celebration, the house system was revived. And I was pretty thrilled to be in the red house, considering that was also my primary school house.
The red house was my identity, and I have been counting down the days to our very first house meet ever since then.

We were finally gathered together as one house, and I'm going to call it Lava because...it's not very nice to reveal the name of your house when you love your school ☹️. The atmosphere was building up as I settled down with the other Crystal. Gathering in our classes, I waited with anticipation as we waited for the whole house to settle itself. Then that's when the real hype begins! We were then introduced to our house teachers and our house captains. My shoulders relaxed looking at the familiar faces around me. I didn't recognise many of my teachers, but I recognised my present day Chinese teacher and the Special Needs and Education Officer. The story of how I met the latter will be saved for another time.
After we were introduced to the house staff and the student council members in charge, our house masters taught us our cheers, with the house captains teaching us the movements to our cheers. Initially, we were seated down but wanting to make sure we won the house cup, we started standing to cheer and finally incorporated the movements...nah, I was half joking.
The real hype was when we all got up and had a two level cheering competition. The seventh and eighth graders (Sec 1 and 2) screamed with their childish energy but the ninth and tenth graders (Sec 3 and 4) did everything to outdo their energy. The final cheer of the day was when we all got into a circle and screamed as one Lava house. All ended with a house photo, where I got to take a photo with my old classmates that actually cared and Crystal Yeo, my new friend.I love Lava! And after that briefing, I had the perfect idea, gather Crystal Yeo and Farah (literature classmate) to take part in board games, a sport in our school's sports day.
