To prepare for the frisbee interclass, we have been having practice sessions. However, sometimes people get a little cliquey and just choose people who are in their social circle. Bittersweet, huh? Bitter, because I can't play sports. Sweet, because I had some new opportunities to socialise. Here's a story about socialising then.

We were watching a class of Stream 2 frisbee players and I must admit it was an experience like no other. All the Stream 2 players played with their hearts and souls, and the competition was intense because we were filled with dancers and people that played netball. I casually remarked about how 3 Peace would win because we won the previous sports games*. Unfortunately, Elysia was an ex Stream 2 student and she was able to reason with me that it wasn't true, claiming we had only won because the other classes weren't able to win this time. She added on that Stream 2 students usually won more often than Stream 1 students, and that made sense. Stream 1 were for the academics; Stream 2 "were for all the others."

I guess that's when I realised my outcast days prevented me from seeing the world holistically, rather than what was in front of me. Few people saw me for who was and they forced me to be with my best friend, making me "dumber" in the process. When you only have one perspective to consider, you can't truly grow up I guess.

Elysia was soon called up to the field, and I was left with Vicky and Charlotte.

Crystal Ong: with OBS over, we're going to die in EOY!**

Charlotte: yea we are

Crystal Ong: how was your OBS?

Vicky: so bad

Crystal Ong: ohhhh, but I did enjoy it a lot...

Vicky: honestly I hated the amount of hiking we had to do. And I even burnt my hand while doing outdoor cooking.

Crystal Yeo: Actually I burnt my hand too.

Charlotte: so do you have siblings?

Crystal Ong: Yea. 2 younger twin brothers, both in primary 1.

Charlotte: one twin brother

Crystal Ong: oh! But is he in a different class? I don't see him around.

Charlotte: he's in a different school. Couldn't qualify for Kallang Christian.

Vicky: older brother, three years older.

"Crystal!" Fawn called out and I ran to the court, ready to play with my class once more. It felt liberating to finally do what I was meant to do, be a part of the court and play with my heart in it. I truly enjoy the time I get to play with my friends, or maybe it's because I have to come acknowledge that sometimes people can be competitive and decide on more athletically inclined players in competitive settings.
