"Once you finish your oral exam, pick up your belongings and leave by the staircase next to the auditorium," Mdm Yeo announced. "Anyone who cuts through the toilets will get 0 for the Chinese conversation section." We then flushed into our stations and everyone started doing some last minute revision for our orals. However, this being our EOYs, we decided to still chat here and there.

While looking through my oral book, I couldn't help but notice JY's flash cards. They were detailed and consisted topics I didn't think of, and even a way of studying orals I didn't even think of. I couldn't help but discreetly peep at it while waiting for my turn. I managed to get in some much needed revision, but we still had a chance to socialise with each other.

Crystal: I feel so bad for Nicholas. He's the last one for our station.

JY: Right? I feel so bad for Nicholas.

Crystal: nice notes! Where did you get them from?

JY: thank you~ I made them based off tuition worksheets you know. They cover a great range of topics!

Crystal: I can tell.
They spent the rest of the time yapping about random topics until each of them was called up for preparation time.

Likewise, I was soon called up for preparation. I placed my book and water bottle on the ground, putting on my earphones and listening to the statement of the video (commonly referred to as 旁白in lessons). Hey, social media! I would be able to talk a lot about this topic. I spent the next 5 minutes preparing for the topic until the one stationed for silent preparation signalled it was time for the silent preparation to end, and we all flushed to our respective stations.

Fawn told me my examiner was nice, so I believed her and faced her with confidence and politeness greeting her. All her questions were crystal clear and I didn't have to ask for meanings, rather asking her to repeat the question again due to clarity issues. I felt confident expressing my thoughts about social media in my mother tongue, fluent as ever giving examples. I didn't feel the need to give examples when asked too, so I walked off confidently. There are a lot more exams left, but I feel confident about this one, and I feel this little success would push me to continue doing well in my subsequent, written exams.
